Let’s start with a group of teams that were dominant in close games during given NFL seasons. Our arbitrary group of teams played six or more games that were decided by a touchdown or less in those seasons and each of them won 75 percent or more of those games. In all, those teams went a combined 449-102 (81.5 percent) in close contests. If there were really something consistent about how a team performs in the tight ones, these teams would at least emulate their record during the following season. Instead, they went a combined 256-249 (50.7 percent) in those same close games the following year.

Playoff teams that won a lot of close games in the regular season also actually do worse in the playoffs than teams that had a losing record in close games

Is he though? I bet the Eagles signed him for under 2M for 2018-19. Trey Burton just signed a four year deal with an 8M AAV.

Trey Burton has 63 catches/628 yards/6 TDs in 3 seasons.

Rodgers has 100 catches/941 yards/11 TDs in the same span.

I think you might be viewing this with "Philly Special" goggles on. I liked Trey Burton but he has done nothing to show he was worth the deal he got.

Eagles also are very high on Billy Brown who has been on the PS in 2017 (UDFA in 2017). I think they believe he's ready to step up too given the fact that they didn't even make an effort to resign Trey. Did not even try a little bit.

 

All I know about Richard Rodgers is that he drops a shit ton of passes. Very surprised to see those stats.
