Wasn't there a report right after the season ended that the browns locked in Allen as their guy already?

 

Its really hard to tell if that's a smokescreen or if the Browns are actually gonna be that dumb

These reports come from ridiculous sources. They had the same thing last year with Mitch Trubisky. Plus, King's source is a friend of Dorsey's on what he thinks Dorsey will do.

If your guy is not Darnold or Rosen then #1 overall has to be Barkley god dammit

 

Even Chubb isnt too far fetched. But Allen is a project that no team picking in the top 10 has a roster strong enough to groom. Its a tough sell to me anywhere. I get NYJ but still, nahh. Take Lamar Jackson.

 

I wouldn't go that far. Allen very well could be #3 overall.

 

Isnt this the part where you'd usually say just because it happens doesnt mean its not stupid?

Everybody wants this draft to have 6 future franchise quarterbacks or whatever but that's just being overly idealistic. Thats not talent I see here. There is a clear cut 1 and 2 and after that theres several potential developable starters... Its a deep class that offers more variety at QB than most... but that doesn't mean they all need to go in the top 12 picks.

Allen is, at best, a worse Blake Bortles.

 

Oh yeah, Rosen and Darnold are obviously 1st and 2nd. Allen, Lamar, and Mayfield make up that second tier. All three could be good. If you're desperate for a QB, like the Jets are, just take your guy.

 

If he's there, I legitimately believe that the Browns choice at #4 will be Chubb. I do love Barkley, but RBs are much easier to find than a dominant edge rusher. Plus, I think there will be some solid RB options at #33 and #35.
