@Max_123 : Disagree. Obviously, their offense is extremely more potent with OBJ healthy. It is obviously heavily dependent on his success. If they're smart they give him a generous contract and build around him and whatever QB they draft.

 

oh I know but generally young black athletes have a shorter leash in some sports.(NHL and NFL)

 

Building around a wide receiver is a TERRIBLE idea
Offensive success is a direct correlation of the QB play with average/above average O-line play.

 

When's the last time a team won the SB with a dominant #1 WR

He's OBJ. He automatically gives Eli and their rookie QB a top-3 target for the next 3-4 years with a new contract. Why not build around him? They already have Evan Engram, Sterling Shepherd (who I think is pretty good), and likely a new RB. Their offensive will be fine.

I really don't care either way though. Giants fans tend to annoy me. I just like listening to the OBJ haters on sports radio.

Agreed. I think Pat Shurmur is an awful HC. Don't think NYC is a good fit for him at all.

Okay but here's the problem - when is the last time a team really tried? Like, the Bucs aren't held back by Mike Evans. They are a shit organization. Same with the Giants.

Also, Atlanta made it to the Super Bowl because of Julio. Without Julio, no SB meltdown. Without AB, no playoffs for Pittsburgh.

Their O-line is dogshit, so whatever QB is back there will get killed. It doesn't matter how good the receiver is if they don't have QB who can get them the ball because either they suck, or the O-line sucks

 

True. Heavily evidenced by last year's shitstorm of a season (which I loved every minute of).

But having OBJ is better than not having OBJ.

 

Also my take for the day is I'm not sold on Sean Mcvay yet.

 

But also the NFCE is a dumbass division where the team you thought was least likely to win the division usually does so who knows

 

Bottom-line is the Giants will likely be ass again this season anyway. So I'm all for it.
