Ed was shitty at tackling and run defense and that kinda closes the gap between him and Rodney imo

Part 2 - Not bad. Not as good as Part 1, but certainly watchable.

 

I think its free safety v strong safety in the end. Troy played the line a lot more in a way Reed couldnt. Whereas Troy in coverage, while good, was definitely not what Reed was there.

If you put those two on the same team, it'd have been game over for basically every team

 

Yeah I did enjoy it, it started pretty slow, but it gradually picked up

Travis Frederick said that he's 90-95% healthy and is hopeful/expected to be ready to go for offseason practices and whatnot, so that's pretty dope.

 

Also, I've been hearing and seeing a lot of stuff about Dak and his comments on getting paid what he deserves, the Tom Brady/Gisele comment, etc... and people are of course overreacting and drastically undervaluing what kind of contract he will/should get. The cap goes up every single season so him getting between $25 and $30 million a year is about 15% of the total cap space and is what EVERY starting franchise quarterback will be getting, regardless of actual talent level. We've seen enough to know that he plays well much more often than he doesn't and I just can't wait for people who don't understand how NFL contracts work to see that Dak will get somewhere around those numbers and then point at Wilson's first contract extension and lose their minds.

I could see 21-23 mill as the base rate for starting QB but 25-30+ should still be reserved for the better ones. Dak isn’t terrible but he’s not a top 15 QB either and his stats / resume show that.

Like, I think Dak has comparable talent to Derek Carr and I think Carr was overpaid to get $25mill AAV

 

I don't watch or follow college football at all. Like, I couldn't name you a single player that played a down in the past few years.

He is top 15 in nearly every stat there is, but regardless, he's a franchise quarterback and contracts go up every year. He will at least get $25 million and it will probably be closer to $30 million.

 

Now that you said the name, I've seen it mentioned before but I couldn't tell you a thing about him.

If Elliott misses time I can’t imagine Dak performing nearly as well. He benefits a lot from defenses focused on Zeke, especially since he’s mobile too. That’s two huge things diverting opposing defenses from being able to focus on stopping the pass.

 

This simply isn't true. The cap goes up, quarterback money goes up. Every team goes through this.

I just know that 99% of players don't take a discount to keep the team together, so it is what it is. You have to pay good players to stay on your team.

Yeah, I think it can be true that Dak is worth $30M with how QB contracts work, and also that any team who pays Dak $30M is going to be hamstrung because they’ll be paying top 5 QB money to a top 15 QB for at least a couple years, so they won’t be able to supplement with an elite supporting cast unless everything goes perfectly

 

i could see $25 but $30 is such a reach for Dak haha

Literally only elite QBs make that much, even with inflation considered
