This is a thing Ben put me on to, but I did notice the only friends I have who are pats fans aren't even from mass but nh/me so it seems like a slight thing that's legit

Most I know are from CT actually. But yeah NH definitely loves the Pats haha. But in general the NE area seems to care more about the Sox than anything

They got 20k+ at the SD/SA game.

Orlando/Atlanta has been raining which probably depressed turnout because you know Florida is going to show out if Spurrier is on the sidelines.

Either way, I’m hooked as an NFL offseason alternative to bridge me to baseball season.

Bummed I’m stuck with the SD/SA game instead of Orlando. The Gilbert TD was fun.

Troy Polamalu is eligible for HOF next year

First ballot IMO. That is the best safety that played the game during my lifetime.

Actually... I hate to admit this but there is one better. I was watching some old Pats Superbowl footage to get an idea of how they got so good. Rodney Harrison was ALL OVER THE FIELD in each game. So I checked his stats.

    Troy Polamalu: 778 tackles, 32 INTs, 12 sacks, 14 FF, 7 FR, 3 TD
    Rodney Harrison: 1197 tackles, 34 INTs, 30.5 sacks, 15 FF, 9 FR, 2 TD

holy shit. Did not realize there was such a wide gap between them, especially in sacks. Harrison is the first player in history to get 30+ sacks AND 30+ INTs, which is an insane stat. For reference, Ray Lewis was the next player to accomplish this feat.

Both players won 2 out of 3 Superbowls.

Ed Reed is definitely above both Troy and Harrison. Whether it’s the eye test, stats, or asking those who played against them.

I hate to say this but Reed was probably better. Few players could make a QB ignore such a large chunk of the field that they cover. He was an interception machine, he was everything you would make a robot safety to be lol he did it all.

Troy is my favorite player ever, but he’s hard to compare. He was practically a linebacker who was an all-pro safety. The reads he could make on other offenses were absurd. We’ll probably never see a troy-like player again, and the Steelers 100% don’t win two Super Bowls without him
