@Max_123 while you’re up here you should checkout Portsmouth NH and Portland Maine.

 

I back the Portland rec. Visited last Spring and had a great time. Plenty to do in and around the city - especially if you love craft beer and great food.

 

Oh yeah, let’s tell someone who lived there for a few years what the whole city is like based on a TV show haha. A TV show set in the city’s worst neighborhoods that a non resident would never even go to anyway.

Idk why Philly / Jersey residents are so uppity about Baltimore, most of Philly is just as seedy and dangerous

Baltimore may have some of the worst crime stats, but that doesn’t at all mean they apply to the whole city. Like anywhere else, just avoid the ghetto. Every city’s ghetto should be avoided in the same fashion

 

I was mostly talking about issues from the show (and being a sarcastic jerk lol). Baltimore has good/bad parts just like any city. Just had a bad personal experience there, along with a couple family members who live around Baltimore that left bad tastes in my mouth.

I still think that using crime stats to judge a city is dumb, because you’re not a gang member, you aren’t gonna go to the ugly neighborhoods that have no nightlife, and you aren’t going to be the target of the crimes that give Baltimore a bad rep

Just like, say, Portland having low crime doesn’t mean you’re just gonna go to Portland’s ghetto and hang out? Baltimore having high crime doesn’t mean you’re constantly in danger in the touristy areas.

 

Some just have more bad than others ;)
And their good parts arent actually really unique to the city ;)
And only seem that way cause you lived there ;)

Touristy areas are lame. And Baltimores crime rate, like most cities, isnt just in the "ghetto"

 

Most of it is, actually, yeah. You really don’t know anything about that city lol you’ve never even been there. I accept @xbrokendownx ’s opinion before I accept yours cause he actually formed that opinion from BEING there

 

Stepping foot in the city isnt gonna validate already validated research haha.

 

Aggregate research is a poor way to assess a city, you’re taking all the TOTAL stats and assuming they apply to all the city when the data is actually widely varied by neighborhood

 

Boston Police didn't even bother taking down the Parade fencing from the Sox parade.

I've had enough of Florida in my lifetime. The only reason I'd ever go back is Disney/Universal.

 

Yeah and in the hoods I mention, crime is normal for the volume of people there

And mostly non violent crimes like larceny from vehicle. Don’t leave a laptop in your car. Like in any city.
