I didn’t know senior citizens were in the AirBnB game. That’s cool.

Man fuck you you're in Austin already

Just dying hoping I can get on that showcase. I got so mad sifting through the DIY musicians' facebook group - had I paid attention a week sooner I could've also got on THEIR showcase for SXSW the day before Jamie Coletta's. A band that I LOVE and work with a lot locally called GILT (from St. Augustine) got on it because they're charismatic & everyone loves them haha.

Imagine being there a month later haha

Also, it's Monday. I generally avoid Friday & Saturday bar nights in every city I live in and make friends with the people who go on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Sundays lol.

Bummer. Baltimore was great in terms of avoiding crowds. Lots of neighborhood bars that stayed chill, weekends only got crazy by the harbor.

The only times I remember awful Baltimore crowds / traffic were huge events like
    1) that stupid fucking Grand Prix they do every year that blocks downtown roads off
    2) Artscape music & art festival in Mount Vernon / Hampden fest in Hampden
    3) Preakness Horse Racing events in north Baltimore
    4) the Lil' Wayne concert / any hip hop concert at the Royal Farms Arena

so, sporadic and only certain times of year. Sports traffic is all right by the highway exit, touristy spots are all on the water.

Yeah its cause no one wants to be in Baltimore

Hey, if people from the suburbs are afraid of crime that doesn't even really happen in those neighborhoods, that's fine. Makes those pockets of the city very cozy and neighborhoody for the people who live there and know which areas to avoid.

    False

Inner Harbor is a bunch of expensive bullshit. Locals only go there occasionally for Rams Head shows & the Aquarium. Which are both things that locals have seen a million times and don't do often.

Fells Point, Hampden and Federal Hill are all better
Station North & Canton are also better if you don't need things to be fancy

Great, Fells Point would work for you. So would Mount Vernon and Harbor East, two other neighborhoods better than the Inner Harbor that I forgot to mention

It's really the whole middle of the city that's clean and safe to enjoy haha.

The Inner Harbor & all the touristy shit is the southside, then there's a college every neighborhood north of that, including UMD Baltimore, Peabody Music Conservatory, University of Baltimore, MICA Art College, Johns Hopkins, and Loyola... all the way up to Towson where Towson University is located.

Those are the neighborhoods that get good funding & kept safe haha. It's so obvious that the areas east of I-83 and west of MLK are the parts that were segregated back in the day, the city visibly deteriorates across those lines.

Also Baltimore's skyline is legit for a metro / work population of only 2.5 million. There’s some large buildings on the other side behind the camera too.

The Wire came out in the early 2000s and not much has changed in Baltimore since.
