Really rarely used chords anyway

 

But they're so nice to be able to bust out! I hate how limited my range is right now in terms of what chords I'm comfortable writing with

For me it’s not always about using weird chords, but kind of re-arranging the notes in each chord so it’s not always, root note on the bottom.

When you voice chords differently and use your whole fretboard doing so, I feel like you can often create an entirely new emotional response out of the same song, than if you had used the generic arrangements of each chord

 

I have very very rarely ever heard an "emotional chord"

 

Like when i want to play a G I avoid the chord book G and I’ll find a different iteration of the same chord. Same notes, but in different order / sometimes different octaves
