I think he might be right that Atlanta is better for English majors though. Turner Broadcasting is ENORMOUS.

I keep looking it up and most these lists do list Washington DC, but mostly for political media coverage, not for entertainment-based writing.

DC is the best city for Economics aside from NYC, and the best city period for Communications though. IT / internet security is huge there as well.

 

Entertainment industry sucks to work in though (at least music wise)

 

California is constantly on fire and Oregon/Washington are too cold

 

Marvel studios is there too. Its basically Hollywood East.

 

A place that basically never snows cannot have the best weather imo haha. DC / Maryland weather is great because it snows but the winters aren't actually that bad, and the snow is so infrequent that taking a day off to enjoy it & avoid the roads is culturally acceptable there.

 

The overcrowding sucks but for how big it is, it's actually pretty quick/efficient to get from one end to the other. Dining options are also really good compared to other large airports.

yeah this. the humidity is what gets me. i've been in 100 degress in phoenix and it didn't feel as bad as 80 degrees in wisconsin with the shitty humidity. atlanta is beyond horrible in the summer.

 

Eh, Oregon & Washington definitely aren't WARM either. I would describe them as mild / chilly.

Temp in Seattle / Portland rarely goes below 30 but also rarely goes above 65

 

I wish I could live on the west coast

We normally get about 1 good snow per year and then everything shuts down and it’s pretty cool

It’s not as bad as Florida/Texas where it’s once in a blue moon

 

DC has top-notch both

Washington DC bar scene, is great if you have carefree money to spend. I'd say drinking there is kinda expensive but if you like DOPE ass bars Washington DC has a LOT of really stand-out awesome ones.

If i had a 6 figure salary I'd enjoy the shit out of DC.

Museums are cool but like, you see them once or twice and then what? Can't imagine deciding on a city to live in based on museums but it is a cool side benefit. I just want to live in a city with good food. And I need like 2-3 GOOD places in walking distance that I can make my spots.
