Man, I went to Hawaii on my honeymoon last year and it was AWESOME. Helps that work paid for my flight since I worked the week before it for a program. Just dont go to Oahu...go to Kauai instead

I also concur with the idea of going to Europe. Take the money youd spend on Disney World and have a kick ass trip exploring something not super commercialized.

I can't remember where my sister went in Hawaii, and yeah I mean she liked it but she wasn't super impressed

Still definitely better than Disney World I'm sure

 

I think my next international vacation will be Spain, idk yet though

Probably 5-10 years till it happens

 

No lie, do Hilo or Kona for a few days. WAY cheaper. And then fly to Kauai and spend 3-4 days there. The resorts are infinitely better, we found a ton of reasonably priced AirBNBs, and you dont get the shopping mall experience that is Waikiki.

 

this is me, and why i don't have pets. i'd feel horrible leaving them.

my parents have two dogs and go on vacation all the damn time so i end up watching them, which sucks, but i'd rather do that than have them end up in a kennel or "dog-cation" place.

 

One of my most desired places. Liguria, Italy is the number one. 2021 is my goal for a large Europe trip.

 

I'm gonna work from home tomorrow due to the fact that it will about -50 degrees.

We plan our entire social lives around them and I am not kidding. We're doing a New England trip in July for a week and a half and I might die leaving them lol

i started looking and there were so many options that i got exhausted and said fuck it and booked the Waikiki trip and then left for it like 2 days later lol. if i ever do go back i'm definitely gonna research which island to go to more to get away from the main island.

 

We took a week off after our wedding and just did a stay-cation and did some fun day trips but for our real honeymoon we want to go to Australia for like 2/2.5 weeks but it's going to be like 10k total for everything lol

 

That would be so damn cool

 

i want to go to Kyoto and i have no idea why.

i like the idea of being like Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation and being all alone in Japan and not understanding shit. for some reason, that seems fun.



until i'm here, lost and panicking and starving.

 

I worked from home for 3.5 years during my last job and that's part of the reason I moved on to another career field. It was perfect for where I was in life at the time. I'm not overly fond of people, so hanging out at home with my dog was pretty cool. I'd wear my PJs and on really slow days, I'd have a beer or two lol. After my divorce, I got to the point to where I kinda needed to be around people again, so I moved on.

Definitely does have its perks.

 

Japan and Australia are definitely #1 and #2 on my bucket list

 

i was gonna go there instead of Hawaii but the price of the fucking flight alone was the price of the entire Hawaii trip


still on my bucket list, but my god does it sound scary and being in a plane that long will drive me mad. just the flight from Colorado to Hawaii was too much for me (7 hours)

 

Its crazy how different they are. Kona is basically like being on a small Arizona town...its almost desert like in places. And then ~2hr drive away, you get Hilo which is tropical as hell.

Kauai is where they filmed a lot of Jurassic Park stuff, if you need a sense of how lush and green it is.

I went when I was 12 and it feels like such a waste cause I was just an oblivious piss ant

 

that's awesome. i love the diversity of land in close areas. first time i went to eastern Washington i was like the fuck is this place? everyone knows it as "Seattle" but that state has so much variety in a few hours. love that stuff.

 

A friend of mine was stationed in Japan for 3 years when he was in the Navy and I am very jealous

 

I planned out a route through Europe starting in Belgium and ending in Greece. But apparently my roommates have an aversion to driving through rural Bosnia.

 

i also wanna go to Norway.

i'm "supposed" to go there with a friend in 3 years but i've known since the get go that that ain't happening.

so i'll probably end up going by myself, which is usually more fun anyway.
