I don't know much about this guy

 

Is this the first time that QB’s picked 1 and 2 made the Super Bowl in their careers? At any stage, let alone by the end of their 3rd years? Usually one of the picks is good and the other is horrendous. So far that hasn’t been the case.

* obvious asterisk since Wentz didn’t play in the Super Bowl but helped get his team like 75% of the way there.

I've always tried my best to avoid blaming wins and losses on refs and still believe that good teams overcome bad calls.

But man... that missed PI is an all-timer missed call and the placement and timing could make it end up being one of the worst ones in NFL history.

I feel bad for the Saints and their fans and I hate the Saints.

There haven't been THAT many combos of #1 and #2 QBs picked, so yeah I do believe this is the first time QBs picked 1 and 2 in the same draft have made the Super Bowl.

If you open that up to just players picked 1 and 2 CAR-DEN had that in the same game.

 

Yeah, I think it's already there in my mind, just trying to avoid hyperbole that I'm seeing elsewhere already, haha

 

I still think that call may have been the worst call I've ever seen.

Some people are comparing it to the Dez catch/non-catch and I just shake my head. They're not even in the same realm.

 

I keep telling myself that McVay is going to shit the bed against BB, they said Dougie P would last year and he didn't. I definitely could see McVay coming up huge in a couple weeks.

 

Yeah, the ref had to basically ignore the play to make this bad of a call.

-Unnecessary roughness after the play
-It all happened RIGHT in front of the ref so the ref would've had to see all of these things occur, along with having a great angle of when the ball reaches the player to know all of these things are true

 

It's possible, but McVay called a great game against the Saints. Made adjustments where needed, was able to get the offense going enough to catch up, etc. Rams defense shit the bed.

 

Gurley posting that picture with a ref is such a shitty but admittedly funny thing to do, damn

 

I thought it was hilarious haha, and it makes the league look so much worse. Rams players are openly admitting that the ref blew it.

 

Again, I'm not all about someone getting fired because it's super shitty but those officals should be let go.

Yeah, I agree with all of that. I mainly just feel bad for Saints fans who see it, haha

Dee Ford must have watched some Randy Gregory tape in prep for this game.

 

As much as I wanna be upset at Dee Ford for blowing it he was like 1 of only 2 players on the Chiefs defense to exist all season haha. If not for him the Chiefs would definitely be Texas Tech and would not have been a 1 seed or in the playoffs at all.

 

This is true, but not going for it on 4th & goal at the 1 was telling to me. I don't know, he's lucky they won because he would have gotten shit for that call.

The #1 pick headache - The 1st round pick headache - The allegedly "should've been a 1st round pick" headache

Oh yeah he would've definitely been criticized for that call. But I still think it would've been the right call. His RBs are bulldozers / Saints offense was doing pretty well / Saints corners were playing uber aggressive. Saints just made a helluva play to stop the run.
