We’re 3-1 against Wentz in games that mattered, so I’m okay with playing against him. He tends to crumble in close games.

 

think of how good Wentz would be with Dallas' OLine and Ezekiel Elliott

think of how poor Dak would be without a great OLine and without a running game

 

If you think our offensive line is still great then that shows you don’t know the Cowboys much at all. They haven’t been healthy or all that good since mid-2017.

They were so bad we fired our offensive line coach halfway through the season and luckily improved with Colombo coming in to help. Even then, they’re great at run blocking but flat out average at best in pass blocking.

 

He certainly didn't crumble in Dallas.

 

So when do we get your speech on how great Garrett is ?

 

He had like...a 70% completion rate and a 5/1 TD/INT ratio.

Carson Wentz was just fine in those games.

 

He has crumbled against us, so I don’t know what you mean by that. I also don’t judge players only by how they play against us, so you’re making up shit there.

I agree, that’s why I didn’t bring it in originally. I wanted to talk about Wentz and others brought in Dak.

I couldn’t give two shits about Dak. I’m glad he’s going to get 25-30M a year and be the QB in Dallas for the next 4-6 years.

I even said that Wentz is a solid starter and good. I just don’t think he’s near elite or anything but like that.

 

I only get uptight when people are hyperbolic and argue in bad faith on purpose. People were saying they weren’t in the same conversation at all and any time I tried to argue anything different, people ignored every point I made and plugged their fingers in their ears. Can Wentz be elite ? Absolutely. Do think he's going to do it next season ? I absolutely think so, but a lot has to happen for it to happen.

 

I mean when he had a legit #1 RB (as Ajayi was playing like at the time) and an offensive line that was playing on an elite level, he was close to blowing the MVP race in 2017 into the ether.

Eagles need to find a three down back which they did not have this year and get younger on the line. Wentz is the least of my concerns on the Eagles.

 

Again, you haven’t laid out why you think his a horrendous take. Explain how Wentz is THAT much better.

I agree with all of that but then Dak plays at a very high level with a similar offensive support and everyone here will not give him any credit. Why is that?

 

I’d like to know how many games in that 4-12 stat of yours were from 2016 where his skill positions around him were mostly trash.

As for this year, let’s not forget he spent most of the offseason rehabbing and not practicing much with the ones until later in the summer. I mean, he wasn’t even cleared to play until week 3 and he actually played fairly well until the Eagles acquired Golden Tate and tried to force him into the offense. You can’t pin those games after the bye all on Wentz when that whole offense was in a funk.

And I’m not gonna hear Wentz slander from Dak truthers when we know a lot of Dak’s success has come from the o-line and Zeke carrying the ball 20+ times a game

 

I think everybody was singing Dak’s praises in 2016 were they not? Maybe not here but I know the national media was all about Dak that season (and Zeke).

I think you’re not seeing it because Dak was not very good in 2017 because of not having Zeke and then this year he was better with him for all 16.

There is a reason one went #2 OVR and one went in the 4th round. There are specific traits that Wentz has that Dak doesn’t and the media acknowledges that. Wentz has a much higher ceiling but his floor is also much lower as well because of his draft position.

Add in the Foles factor. He’s going to be gone this year so if Wentz doesn’t go deep into the playoffs in the next year or two, you’ll start to see everybody begin to question/turn on him but that time isn’t now.
