you pretty much think every NFC team is overrated aside from the Eagles from the sounds of it

 

hes in the Hall of Fame and plenty of people think he was way better than he actually was

 

i think people only remember him from his Rams stint. he kind of fell off the map after that (remember he was Eli's backup in New York!) and then went to Arizona and lit it up, but Arizona isn't much of a market so even though he was amazing he was pretty consistently forgotten about even during his run there, which is crazy.

 

Nope. I sure don't think the Cowboys are overrated right now,especially if they win tomorrow. I didn't think the Vikings were overrated last year or did I think the Bears were this year. But think that Dolphins fan.

 

Maybe you have a different perspective of it than I do since you're closer to where people who claim Namath would be, but more than anything I hear people only say that he's overrated. But yeah since you've probably got a better perspective on it than I do I'll cede that one haha, you probably know better than me.

anyways not sure what me liking the Dolphins has to do with anything. I am smart enough to know the Dolphins stink.

The Namath thing so hard for me, mainly because I wasn't alive to see him play. I know that sounds silly.

Nah I agree with you haha, it's so hard to tell without seeing him play, especially without seeing him play in the lens of the era he played in

But it looks like comparably he wasn't great, but he obviously had a massive impact on the league as a whole

There aren't many people who you can ask "So how did you impact the NFL?" and they can respond "I helped double it"

 

God can you imagine how miserably bad that Giants team would be without Barkley? Woof

Honestly, not the worst. 2/4 with two of those losses not bad.

Wasn't it more of a defensive league back in the day though ? Because if it was I think what he did at that time may have been harder. I don't even recall seeing much footage of him either.

If you modernize Joe Namath's stats based on how he compares to his peers, he'd be a top half of the league QB in our current league

 

I haven't done it yet but I'm pretty sure if you modernize Dan Marino's stats to match this era he's the best QB of all time

 

Than he'd be a starter just about for any team. I think that should answer it a little aha.

 

Marino's second season is the greatest season by a QB ever.
