Red Ryan made them look pretty decent. Buckner upped the Bucs sacks from 22 to 38 last year.

yeah I wanted Fangio #1 at first, but I am kind of glad they moved away from him. Though I think he will do wonders with Chubb and Von

also, he apparently has a very out there personality. The Dolphins need an in your face type guy and Kris Richard seems like he is that. Hopefully they get him on board once Dallas loses.

Don’t get me wrong I’m sure the defense will be really good but it seems weird to me he’s never had real HC consideration before and he’s already 60. Seems the exact opposite direction the league is moving

My shop manager and I haven’t spoken about football since the season ended and we would talk about it regularly. I think it’s like a “I won’t bring up Antonio Brown if you don’t bring up the Bengals and head coaches” silent pact

I disagree that it’s not an exciting hire. I want to see what Fangio does with that Denver D. I think it’ll be a very good pairing if they go that route. Obviously a good offensive mind would be great too with him, regardless of age.

Also what does long term even mean in a league where head coaches are turned over every 4 years or so? If they (or anyone) gets 5+ good years out of a head coach, that’s great, and he’s not so old that I’d worry about that at all

I was hoping the Browns announcement would come last night but of course it drags into today.

    This shit is taking forever.

Channel your frustrations into calling 92.3 The Fan or ESPN 850 about the moves you want the Browns to make.

  12. Rivera announced he will stay as the defensive play caller next year. I’m fine with that. The defense improved drastically when he took over.

There are really fans that think no mater what your personnel is, if you switch from 4-3 to 3-4 it suddenly makes the defense a lot better. I guess they never heard of madden or watched tape on their team either. They probably don't even know what their players are good at either. As dan le batard always says, a lot of people really have no idea what they're watching.

Haha and that it often results in most of the defense turning over in a 2-3 year span

The fact that Kitchens (or hell, even Stefanci) hasn't been named HC yet makes me think Haslam is trying to get in the way of a decision. My guess is Haslam wanted a BIG splash (aka McCarthy or someone with a larger resume).

Yea, like my favorite assumption is a 30yr old 6-6 280lb guy who was an edge rusher in a 4-3 all his career could either play 5 technique or become an olb. They could just tell. Or the weakside linebacker who only fell to the 2nd round because he was so undersized and can't penetrate the OL at all on blitzes can easily become an olb edge rusher.

Different teams, I just used the Bucs team as an example because it's so obviously not a fit. but I see broncos, jets, cards fans etc. saying the same thing. A lot of fans truly don't understand alignments and scheme much at all, especially if they're 50yr old Joe Schmo from riverdale pennsylvania lol
