Okay, fine, i'll give you Seymour. I will absolutely fight you on Chandler Jones though. That dude was the least impactful 10+ Sack/Year player in the league. He would go weeks where he would be absolutely invisible.

I agree with you that the large contract needing to be paid is what would limit the value. The Raiders trading a 2020 2nd while getting a 2020 1st from the Bears is actually a move from spot #36 to something like #24. So its not even a swap for 2 1sts in truth.

That said, the QB position changes everything and a trade for Wentz (or a similar level QB) would absolutely be a 2019 1st, a 2020 1st, and probably a 2019 mid-rounder at minimum. Because Wentz is under team control for two years, and that leverage would mean he wouldnt get the absolute #1 QB deal right away.

That’d be a top 3 Pats FA acquisition up there with Moss and Corey Dillon. That’s a Super Bowl tbh. Belicheck is a defensive genius.

Mack on New England would upset me for sure, but Wentz on New England would give us all another 15 years of Pats dynasty

 

Haha Wentz would be crazy good on the Patriots. But not as good as Mack forcing fumbles / intercepting screen passes, and sacking the opposing offense into punting Brady the ball at midfield

 

Mack also makes it harder to run and keep the ball away from the Pats offense. Which has shown they might decide to run the ball themselves and dominate TOP and make it easy for Brady to win.

FYI - Randy Moss was traded for a guy named John Bowie who had two career tackles in his entire career.

Honestly he throws less TDs despire having more talented receivers / line than Andrew Luck, but he has all the same problems that have kept Luck from being considered a top 3 QB himself. The risky, aggressive pocket presence and running exposing him to injury, throwing picks by trying to make too much unrealistic shit happen all the time, etc.

I ain’t calling Wentz an elite QB before Luck because Luck has now moved past that and learned to play the game with caution and foresight. Meanwhile Wentz came back from injury and arguably played even more aggressively.
