That’s my point!! I get trading two first round picks for Mack because he is an actual once in a generation talent. The last player as good as Mack was JJ Watt, legitimately.

 

Mack is better at his position than Wentz is at his position, but there's so much more value and importance in the QB position that Wentz > Mack any day, ignoring injury history of course.

 

This is a spicy one. Players can get hurt at any moment football related or not

See you have to ignore injury history and you have to also ignore the fact that Wentz despite looking so good at times still hasn’t proven he’s a top 10 QB. Whereas Mack is a top 1 edge player.

Sure, but I'd rather have a roughly top ten QB than the best edge player in general. Players like Mack, Watt, Donald, etc... they can be the best player in the league or one of the greatest in NFL history, but without a QB, you're almost positively never going to win anything important consistently. There are one-off years here and there where they might, but having a fringe top ten QB is more consistent with winning year in and year out. I'd rather have that.

 

But hes an mvp caliber QB!

 

Mack and Watt were drafted three years apart. That's to say nothing of guys like Aaron Donald and Von Miller too. That's not "once in a generation"

Nothing against any of those players, but Wentz was the favorite to win MVP before the ACL tear last year

 

I agree you can't ignore the injury history with Wentz. He has had 2 serious injuries...its not like he has had a sore groin or something. He also was hurt in college too

that said, I would still love to have him on my team

 

Shouldn’t their success with a lesser QB drive down the price of Wentz? Like, if they “don’t need” someone as good as Wentz to be successful why should another team pay a large price to acquire him and then also give him a large contract?

Their OL certainly helps Foles. I think it’d be smarter to use all the picks and money it’d take to acquire Wentz and use them to build up your OL. Because if you pay up for Wentz and have nothing left to pay for his protection, then his presence on your team probably won’t even matter.

 

Am I wrong or does it seem like the defense plays better for foles than wentz?

 

Because some teams dont believe in coaching.

NE is a little different because they have the goat as their QB. They are not “settling” for a lesser QB when they trade away another QB.
