Wentz should fetch at the very minimum 2 1sts, likely a 3rd, and a good player

 

You know how there's the basketball take where they say Brad Stevens is at his best as a coach when the Celtics roster is depleted and has to fight through adversity?

I wonder if it's the same with the Eagles and Pederson/Foles.

I think he could PROBABLY return 2 firsts and thats it. Keep in mind the team trading for him also has to pay him a ton of money

I've gotta disagree. How is it highballing when you're trading away a young QB that showed flashes of being incredible (MVP candidate last year before he went down).

 

I could see it as a "fuck it, throw the book at every team since we're hanging by a thread here" kind of mentality.

But while I said I am not worried about Wentz injuries, I do think they should reduce his price. That would be the reason they are trading him to fucking begin with haha. If his health isn’t actually a team concern and doesn’t drive down the price then why the fuck are you offering him at an exorbitant “reliable elite QB” rate??? haha. That’s just an unrealistic trade at that point that shouldn’t happen.

Like yeah I want Andrew Luck too but that doesn’t mean we are even talking about how much that would cost haha.

I think the Foles situation is twofold

1) Foles has always been at his best in a structured offense. He's not a great improviser (although he has his moments, like the first Alshon TD against the Vikings last playoffs). Wentz is more of a freestyler, which leads to a much wider range of outcomes. Pederson is smart enough to play to each of their strengths.
2) Foles doesn't have a broken back, so he is better right now.

 

A pass rusher (Khalil Mack) was traded for 2 1sts and another 1st swap. A FRANCHISE QB (aka the most important position in the NFL) will at least match, more than likely top that

 

Yeah players usually are also worth less in trades if they need to be paid right away. So that would be another reason his trade value should go down a bit.

The Eagles really hold all the cards in this situation. I don't think they'd get like a full draft out of Wentz or anything but they're certainly not gonna take chump change for him because, well, they can also just keep him.

Keep in mind Khalil Mack was holding out before he was traded. So teams already KNEW he wanted out and he still cost as much as he did.

I value Khalil Mack higher than Wentz

I think the chances of drafting another Wentz are higher than the chances of drafting a Mack-like player

Also, the chances of Wentz getting hurt and not being available are higher than the chances of Mack declining or regressing any time soon
