I don’t want to create another Patriots like team in the process!!

ESPECIALLY when that team is the fucking Colts in my division who already went like 14-2 and win the division for 15 years straight under Manning

Oh yeah, that's fair and i was somewhat kidding. But I would take Lawrence over Wentz. He'll probably be better as a rookie.

    The rivalry is back on

Yeah pretty much. All the teams are confused because they think the secret sauce is to find a McVay clone, but actually the secret sauce is to find someone who is an exceptional coach at whatever they do

I just think if you have a way of getting competitive now you don’t wait till later. If we didn’t still have a top defense my opinion might be different. But putting Wentz on this team would make us return to winning, I’m confident in that.

Except it would take a huge haul to trade for Wentz and then we have to immediately re-sign a 27 year old QB that's had two out of three seasons ended by injury. Give me a 20 year old Lawrence. thanks

The catch (IMO) is that the price of Wentz right now is gonna be pretty high, and if he DOESN'T make your team more competitive (or if there are injury issues down the road which we know can happen), you are missing a lot of pieces to help build that team during that window where your stars have to be present. I'm obviously not one to think that losing picks cripples your team or anything like that, if anything I think it's an overreaction to think that trading picks will set your franchise back years and years. But if you are looking at things in the scope of having a short window, it's something to consider.

However there's also no guarantee that you'd get Lawrence so fuck it. If you need a QB go get a QB. It might not be better than getting Lawrence, but it'll probably be better than not getting Wentz OR Lawrence.

Wentz is good man. I’m not super worried about his injuries. If it was the same or similar injury twice maybe I would be.

I wouldn’t trade two firsts for him but if they genuinely shopped him because of Foles’ success in that offense (which, I think would be DUMB but here we are discussing it), idk if it would take that much. A first and one of our two thirds and a 3rd or 4th next year? Hell yeah I’d trade something like that for him.

If injuries are a concern yet again we have the option of cutting our losses down to just the draft picks and not resigning him. If he balls out that year we obviously resign him and be done with it.

They could just sign Kaepernick for like $45.

Can they do that while he's awaiting his case vs the NFL?

Well, this last month of football has been pretty amazing. I never would have thought at 3-5 coming off the Titans embarrassing us that we'd make the playoffs, much less win a game and be in the divisional round against the Rams. Playing there is pretty great since we have a big fan base in surrounding areas since our practice field is in Oxnard.

I don't think we win because they're a better team in almost every aspect, from players to coaches, but I felt about the same way about Seattle and we pulled that one out, so we'll see.

At this point, I'd say this has been a very successful season and barring someone important to our team being severely injured or a complete failure of a game from Dak, losing wouldn't be that awful to me unless it's to the stupid Eagles, but I imagine the Saints will wipe the floor with them. If not, they're the only team I don't want to see win it all and would be happy for any other team winning, especially the Saints because then I'll win $400, haha

That’s not “nothing at all”. I’m pretty sure it cost them less to trade up from 20 something to 2 to get Wentz originally. Then you add in injury concerns and the impending contract situation.

Absolutely 0 chance of them trading away Wentz for 1 first and a couple 2 or 3rds.

If Foles wins us another SB and we feel he's the best fit and look to trade Wentz, it'd have to be for at least a couple/few first rounders packaged with another late round pick or player.

It's been the talk of Philly sports radio the last 2 weeks.

Yeah that's absurdly unrealistic dude. One 1st and a 3rd and a 3rd or 4th for a guy who played at an MVP level with two years left on his contract? Come on now haha

    What????!?!?!?
We gave the Browns 2 first round picks (1 was a swap), a 2nd, 3rd and 4th to move up and get Wentz.

A list of QBs who have more trade value than Carson Wentz right now

    Patrick Mahomes
    Deshaun Watson
    Baker Mayfield... maybe

Wentz would fetch multiple 1sts at least and probably a solid starter too

The whole Foles/Wentz situation is one of the weirder ones I've seen in a long, long time. I can't imagine Foles actually being the better player but wins are wins and it seems so strange that the Eagles play better with Foles? I don't know, it's truly odd.

To me that’s not really trading a player hahaha that’s just trying to see if you can highball the shit out of a team.

Realistically you should trade ANYONE if you get that kind of offer. I don’t really take that seriously haha. If that’s the price then I see that as, they just don’t want to trade Wentz.

Kinda like if a dude asked me to name a price on my vintage Ovation guitar I’d say 500,000 dollars even though I got it for less than 1k because the money it cost can’t actually replace something so rare, unique and awesome
