Dysfunctional hc rankings here we come

 

Harmon is projected as a first rounder NOW. You’re definitely in the minority to think he’d have to “sneak in with a good combine.” For starters he’s athletic enough to EXPECT a good Combine.

4.4 is a stretch but running 4.5 at his size would still be very good. For reference Mike Evans ran like a 4.53 and he has elite speed for a big WR

Sure! It’s an oversimplication though.

I don’t think the coaches’ failure to adapt led to a -10 turnover differential this year from the +10 last year. Maybe would explain some of the drop off in sack total, but from the one Jags game I watched where the defense wasn’t lights out, the lack of pressure was more of a result of a depleted secondary and Luck being able to throw the ball quickly as a result than anything else. Some of that is scheming, sure, but when you take Bouye out and put some less good CB in there instead, it messes with everything if that guy doesn’t know the system well enough to be able to draw up something complex and isn’t good enough to hold up in the current scheme.

Well, he's projected a first rounder by mostly unreliable sites in early December. That doesn't mean a whole lot.

For reference - Arden Key was a near universal Top 15 pick last year at this time.

 

Also all of these mocks have the Jags taking Herbert, Lock, or Grier. So I'm "Team All of the Mocks Are Wrong and Stupid" right now.

 

I'm not quite sure I understand how saying their coaching is bad is an oversimplification, but saying Bouye missing 2 games isn't? The entire unit has been worse this year. Everyone. Even Ramsey, despite his bluster. At some point you have to be able to say the coaches are not putting players in a position to be successful. And if someone is hurt, you don't just pack it up and call it a day. You scheme around it.

uh, but Arden Key was a way undersized 230 pound defensive end lol. His stock was bound to fall.

Kelvin Harmon is a perfectly built 6'3" 219 lb receiver. It makes more sense his stock is on the rise.

I think if anything people are realizing Harmon is underappreciated, and that being the #1 target for a pro style offense for 3 years, gave him a lot of NFL ready skills.

He varies his speed mid route to fit the timing of plays and sit down between zones. He also is phenomenal at controlling his body on leaping sideline grabs. His precision in those two areas are what make me think his skills will translate the best to the pros. He also has very reliable hands, even in traffic.

Yes but I didn't base my ranking of Harmon on mocks. I watched all of the big WR listed in draft articles / rankings on tape and Harmon has the most complete skillset, and is the most consistent in terms of, being effective in every game that I watched.

Imo the Finley / Harmon connection elevated NC State a lot and they wouldn't have been a ranked team without the success of those two.

It'd be better if you would watch tape on WRs too and tell me specific reasons why you don't think Harmon is as good?

Key was a pass rusher all day no one was drafting his ass to be a run support LB lol

 

There was another WR somewhat recently who was big and had good measurables and was named Kelvin

I have no horse in this race but the coincidence was perfect

 

If you're talking about Kelvin Benjamin, Harmon doesn't really remind me of him. Hakeem Butler looks more like Benjamin as an athlete, and even then neither WR is as lazy of a route runner as Benjamin always was lol
