Calais, Malik, Dareus, Gipson and Bouye have all done well in a 3-4 defense.

Ramsey is an ideal corner for Harbaugh’s physical press-man tendencies and the fact he expects CB to play tough run defense

I’d be worried about Myles Jack and Telvin being too undersized to play ILB in a pressure front like that though, and they’re not really pass rushers. Jack is a little more versatile and did play 3-4 at UCLA so he’d be more likely to fit than Telvin, who is a pure 4-3 WILL linebacker

I also worry about Yannick Ngakoue. If he could rush standing up he could be a beast, certainly he’s a crazy athlete and that could open him up to use that athleticism more... but a lot of 4-3 DE struggle with that transition

Did you also have to pay the winner money to go to Indiana?

Bosa, Jonah, Dexter and Ed will be gone. I’d take Greedy Williams.

Trading down for Harmon or Harry would be a nice move. You’re right that top 10 is a bit of a reach but I do think Harmon could be a hell of a receiver in this league. He actually reminds me of Kenny Golladay athletically, but Harmon is far more ready to start becuase he runs a lot more routes for a pro style offense

  6. Just because he's had success with a 3-4 doesn't mean he is clueless about other schemes.

Yeah it depends on the new coach. Under your Harbaugh fantasy I want Devin White

Kenny Golladay went in the third haha.

Comparing Indiana to Illinois is like comparing motel 6 to holiday inn

No but why change something that has already proven to be a strength? Dude has had 2 losing seasons in 11 years, has had the top defense a couple times, and always thwarts the gameplan of their biggest rivals and one of the best offenses in the league (Steelers). They’ve also done very well against the Patriots / Brady since Harbaugh got hired

Definitely a case of “don’t fix what ain’t broke” - he probably understands 4-3 very well but that doesn’t mean he’d be as dominant with it

Nah. Illinois is just motel 6 with a luxury penthouse on the roof called Chicago lol

I mean this is obvious haha

Marrone was at least an upgrade over Gus Bradley but he never could even shine the shoes of Pete Carroll

I admire your usage of the term "don't fix what ain't broke" while talking about firing one of the most successful and consistent coaches in the league.

It totally is, but Twitter seems to be missing the point. Good coaching overcomes a lot in the NFL. Good talent can only overcome good coaching for so long.

Becuase he played for Northern illinois and didn’t run a full route tree, also didn’t have to catch as many contested passes.

I’m saying that Harmon looks like Golladay NOW. He looks like a Golladay that understands pro coverage and routes, and when to sit down between zones. He has had more experience catching contested passes. He’s also had very good performances against Bryce Hall and Trayvon Mullen to prove he can handle top competition.

Harmon is 6’3” 219 and has some suddenness, isn’t just a long strider. Exceptional body control too.

    The rivalry is back on

Whitenblue Counter: Coaching is important but is currently overemphasized. In this case, it’s mainly injuries and variability.

Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration haha. Bryce Hall and Trayvon Mullen aren't also what I'd call top competition. They're good. But not elite or anything.
