I want all the special needs dogs. They deserve homes.

I’m trying to convince my girlfriend in letting me get a dog when we get a place this summer, I already have a cat so she’s trying to use that as an argument. I just told her we could get a bigger bed and she’s contemplating it. Haha

See, having to plan my day around a dogwalking regimen, and not being able to leave the house more than 4-5 hours, those are the things I really can’t commit to rn haha. Im not very good with structured routines. I’d have to change my whole life to have a dog. I dig the fact that cats can be self sufficient for a little while and be fine as long as you left them food, water and litter

That -10 weather thing is the real struggle haha. My least favorite part of hanging with people who have dogs is that we are going outside multiple times no matter how much it sucks out there lol

Agreed. Cats are awesome in that regard and very rarely even notice when you come home or that you’ve been gone awhile lol. Dogs are different, always act like they haven’t seen you in a week, and are a lot of work. Having them in Wisconsin / the Midwest is brutal. Although having them down south or a warmer climate would be tough too because you have to have air conditioning for them and a lot of water and keep an eye on them when outside.

I think the people I hate the most are people who own dogs in small houses / apartments and are never home. The fuck is the point. I feel bad for those dogs. An ex’s best friend was one of those people - she’d work like 10-12 hours a day as a paralegal, lived in a small apartment in Chicago and would run home for a half hour lunch to let the dog out and then back in the apartment all alone for another 6 hours until she got home (if she would even go home right away).

Not sure why this wasn't the plan the whole time tbh. That's what I wanted when they brought Coughlin in. He had a rough last few years in NYG but he's still way better than Marrone.

Honestly at this point yeah I'll take Eli or Flacco on a one-year deal, maybe two if we could heavily front-load it and not have that money get in the way of resigning our studs.. That's way better than drafting a QB this year and missing the elite QB prospects coming out next year.

No team is signing either of those guys long term. I think that'd be an appropriate bridge considering we HAVE to do something different than Bortles but I really don't wanna draft Herbert.

Have one of those veterans "groom" Tua in 2020, but all their guarantees are already paid and you can cut them the minute they are no longer needed.

    The rivalry is back on

I feel like JAX has to draft a QB in this class, even if none of them are super inspiring (unless they can find a way to get a good cost controlled QB in some other way). The window for this defense is closing, so it’d be a waste to count on the corpse of Eli or Flacco for one of the last years before you have to start paying the stars of that defense

Tbh none of our options is going to give us a good passing offense. Kessler, Bortles, Eli, Flacco, Herbert, Lock, we will suck with all of them. The key here is to not get stuck with anything long-term.

If they can get away with one more year of Bortles and not waste dead money cutting him / signing someone else, I’d be fine with that too, knowing that we are not a win-now team. But that’s a tough sell from a marketing / business perspective, more Bortles would hurt ticket sales a lot. Plus it’s very possible his teammates have already given up on him.

The best chance at us bouncing back next season is drafting another OL, preferably OT, and having a healthy Cam on the line and Fournette. Being able to run for 1200-1500 yards with him would be the best way for us to consistently get into scoring range and keep our defense in control of game flow.

I would just be happy if they made any move that told me they weren’t drafting a shitty QB this year.

It took the Browns four games to match Hue’s win total over two and a half seasons.

That ravens chiefs game had an awesome finish too. The chiefs pulled it out but I can’t think of any reason why Flacco should ever step foot on the field if Lamar is available.

Did the Dolphins have to run a PAT play at the end of the game? Like in theory, the Pats could've forced a fumble / blocked the PAT and taken it back and still won the game, right? Sure its incredibly unlikely, you just take a knee. But looking at the box score they didn't even make them do that.

Or are there rules that the PAT is only run if the game is tied or the scoring team is down by 1 or 2?

Absolutely. At this point, Lamar not only gives us the best chance of winning (by unlocking the run and controlling the pace of a game to rest our defence) but if the season gets shot, then play him to develop. No positives to going back to Flacco

I love him, but Lamar is not going to last long in the NFL if he keeps playing the way he is

If I remember correctly didn't they create a new rule about this after the Vikings-Saints playoff game last year? Or did that not end up happening?

Yeah I guess it's just for the sake of the obvious kneeldown that would happen, since you can't really attack the kneeldown a la Greg Schiano

You’re probably right, but that’s his game. You drafted him to play like that, so you ride it as long as you can.

You don't know? Maybe look at yourself. This five game losing streak is on you and the shitbrain mistakes you've been making. Take some fucking responsibility for your actions for once in your worthless life. I hope you just sit in the film room and watch that overthrow to Wright and sob like the fucking failure that you are.

I hope that a lot of the plays that he's been having since coming in are due to circumstances. He was never going to play the same as Flacco, so they've tailored everything to Lamar's strengths at short notice, mid season. You'd hope that next season things are tweaked and the game plan changes slightly to protect him a bit more.
