Washington defense looked awesome Washington offense looked mostly good until they got to the Utah 25 and then they forgot how to move the ball. Felt like they should have run away with that game
if only utah didn't lose their #1 QB and #1 RB.... poor Utes. Normally I always bet on Utah but those losses are just too much against a solid Washington team. Washington vs. Michigan rose bowl aint bad. Oh and something I wish the small conferences would do that annoys me is i wish they'd get together and do a little min tournament. MWC, Sun, USA, AAC, Mac. the four conf champions that dont get selected to BCS bowl game play a mini tournament. I think that would be fun. It sucks that a team like Boise State has to play the 6th best PAC team every year..and the rest of these teams dont really get that much either. a Boise, Northern Illinois, App State, Midd Tenn state mini tournament is much more interesting. Or at the very least why doesnt USA and the MAC have a contingent bowl where their champions play eachother.
I mean...Washington beat them with both of those guys in Salt Lake City (which is arguably one of the tougher places in the P12 to play) back in September 21-7. Also notable here is that UW was missing their All-American LT (Trey Adams) and All-American TE (Hunter Bryant) in that one, too. Anyways, my view of the Rose Bowl matchups go like this: Ohio State: Ohio State's DL is not Utah's DL. They are good but they aren't THAT good. They can be run on and I think they would be. However, Ohio State's offense is 10x that of Utah's so would our defense be able to hold up? Yes but tOSU will get points. How much and can UW's offense keep pace? Not sure. I think tOSU would beat UW regardless. Michigan: Might be a game similar to last night. Both very good defenses with offensive issues. Could see this going either way. Northwestern: I think UW could handle them. The exciting thing as a Washington fan is this was projected to be a "down year" and the way they have been recruiting the last few years, I can't help but imagine what is being built here in Seattle. I know a few people here are on the fence about Jacob Eason and that's fine but he's going to be such a massive upgrade next year from Browning, it's not even a little bit comical.
If it went to OT, I would have said Utah. Utah's special teams is far far far superior to UWs. UW went for it on every 4th down last night because our kicker stinks and the one time they tried to kick it and basically ice the game, his kick was blocked. Utah has (had) one of the best kickers in the country.
I don’t think conferences can just decide to do a tournament. Besides, that wouldn’t draw and it would cost those teams a shitload to play two extra games
one extra game*. It would draw similar to the Boca Raton bowl though wouldn't it. And the final might actually draw a bit more than those bogus bowls.
