I'm sorrrrrryyyy haha. It changed a little while ago if it's any consolation haha. I announced that in at least one thread haha
From what I read I think it's the big10 champion unless they're in playoffs. So I guess we could get northwestern vs Washington in the rose bowl.
I wonder though. I've given a ton of reasons why I hate the idea of 8 team playoffs. 4/6/12 I can get behind but not 8. Why are some of you against 6? That seems like the compromise best solution ? 6 allows for more variety....cures the problem of teams with similar records all making it.. but also doesnt hurt the fabric of what makes the college football regular season great. What's wrong with 6?
Byes are stupid and six still leaves out the little guys. Six teams would be the five conferences and then the best runner up. Leaves zero chance for a team like UCF.
Why are they stupid? Shouldn't the top teams get something? Why not reward the team that went undefeated? And I disagree. 6. Ucf makes it this year. Which is awesome. The only way they dont is if Georgia osu and ou all win which I dont think is gonna happen
Because the team that went undefeated is ranked 8th right now. Also, no, they don't need to get something other than playing the weakest team haha. UCF does not make it this year under a six team playoff I can 100 percent guarantee that. They're ranked below Michigan right now. The committee will not acknowledge these teams unless absolutely forced to. Eight teams does that.
Hell ucf makes it with 4 playoff tempo if osu and ou both lose... tough but possible. That why I was so pissed when Maryland blew it. We could've been down to just Oklahoma blowing it
I completely disagree. Ucf will definitely be in the top 6. This Sunday**. They jump Michigan after beating Memphis
I cannot imagine a situation in which UCF is even considered. I'd say the sudden deaths of every single member of the organizations in the top five but the committee would just replace them and then make a movie about it in a couple years.
Well imagine it. They're gonna be top 6 come Sunday as long as ou/osu/uga all dont win (and they win obviously).
Relying on three teams to lose so a team that hasn't lost since 12/17/16 shows that this is not a good system.
They're a mid major team. Unfortunately that's how it goes. You cant argue that osu and ou and Georgia all play much harder schedules than ucf... you need these teams to have 2 losses to jump them. It happens in college basketball all the time. 3 loss Campbell or 12 loss syracuse... guess who's not getting in. And that's a system that allows 68 teams haha
