The story on this 5* recruit (who was the #1 ILB in the country in the 2018 class) reaks of some shady shit. Brandon Kaho committed to UW back in December 2017 and signed his LOI in the early signing period and since then, his life has gone in the toilet. His parents filed for divorce in the spring time and he's had two relatives die suddenly in the last month so you gotta feel for the kid. A lot for an 18 year old to handle regardless of his football prowess. Anyway, he wasn't able to participate in Spring ball or anything because he needed to complete a foreign language credit required to get into UW so he stayed back home in Reno, NV to finish that this summer. A day before fall camp begins (today) he suddenly asks for his release citing "family issues". The word is that his father, who was pushing him to Alabama the whole recruiting period (UW/Bama were his Final 2)--is broke and can't pay for his divorce. He was apparently calling other UW 2018 signees parents and asking for money (LeRoy Irvin woulda been my first call, jmho) and apparently none of the parents wanted anything to do with it and one reported it back to Petersen who then had to report it to compliance. Now there isn't any rule violations by UW here but this stinks. There is a rumor going around that his father is heading this whole deal and that Brandon himself told Coach Pete that he wants to be at Washington but "has no choice". The Tosh Lupoi coffee cup full of cash is gonna strike again when he ends up at Bama. Not to mention, if he is requesting his release because of family issues and needs to be closer to home, Tuscaloosa is another 1600+ miles further from Reno than Seattle is. So yeah.
So Urban is admitting he knew Zach Smith was a habitual abuser and he reported it and then just kept him on his staff anyways? As if that’s better?
McMurphy waiting for Smith to go live on ESPN denying the abuse before tweeting the receipt is extremely good
