I know it probably sounds insanely biased coming from me, but UL has the best inside zone game in mid-major football. My background is an odd mix of Wing-T, Flexbone, and Up-Tempo Spread. I've almost been conditioned to hate running the ball out of the gun. My mind is changing. I've never been a part of an offensive staff that uses the run game to attack like Coach Napier and Coach Sale do. The only teams I can remember being this successful with it out of the shotgun are Oregon during Chip Kelly's time there and Auburn when Tre Mason was their running back. It's been that good so far. We can win our side of the Sun Belt doing this stuff every week. Alabama murked us, but we ran 200 yards against them. More than any other team this season so far. Napier is going to have a Power 5 job by 2020 and Rob Sale will likely be a head coach by then as well. It's night and day from last year.
3 dudes with double digit carries and all of them had at least 90 yards. 55 carries and 344 yards (6.25 a carry) ... not a bad day. Saw y'all put 66 on the board. Oh, and y'all threw for 415 LOL. Set a record for 1st downs in a game, too, with 37, right?
Willie taggart being a slippery snake is one of the best things that’s happened to oregon football. Mario Cristobal has completely changed the culture in a year and I love him dearly
