I mean, if his team wouldn't lose to Troy and get absolutely destroyed by Michigan then I wouldn't have to say these things.

i've never really paid attention to Georgia Tech before so i have some questions:

    - is the QB 3 feet tall?
    - why he his neck literally in the ass crack of the Center?
    - how bad does that smell by the fourth quarter?

i will forever wonder how Aqib Talib ended up going to Kansas. like, i get that some players get good later in college, but man... how did Kansas find him and what made him accept going to Kansas? i don't assume he's from there

edit: ah, he is from Texas.

Growing up in northern Ohio, I can super relate to this. I love watching the MAC conference. Like, this Ohio-UC game has been fun to bounce between.

Georgia Tech's QB is 3 feet tall. their punter looks like a DT. and their first pass (in 11 plays) is a fumble. what a program

Talib was a 2-star recruit per Rivals.com, but I can tell you that 2-stars are just given out to guys basically who haven't been scouted yet by Rivals.com scouts. Just seems like someone who fell through the cracks given that he got a good amount playing time as a freshman. His best offers were like Arizona, baylor, Kansas, KSU and Tulsa coming out of high school.
Yep. Grew up in SW Michigan so I'm a WMU fan first and remember their late 90's runs and then Greg Jennings/Jason Babin era in the mid-2000s. Then the Fleck era. But I also watched a lot of bad WMU teams.

I also got really into Baylor for some reason when the Big 12 started to becoming super offensive/throw-heavy and then the next year Robert Griffin went to Baylor and I was hooked for his four years. Obviously have dropped Baylor since then, though.

Yeah. But they were competitive in those games despite not being good. I just don't get how teams get annihilated like they do. There's some crazy stat where Alabama hasn't lost by more than 14 points since 2003. And that was under Mike Shula, who is a loser coach in his own right... losing to Saban's LSU team. So there's that.

I love the MAC because it produces a lot of underrated talent, both at the NFL level and the coaching level. And if things go a certain way, you get the treat of watching Randy Moss and Chad Pennington. Not many people were watching Central Michigan when Antonio Brown was playing or WMU when Jennings was playing. Jennings is a pretty good dude from what I heard. My childhood friend, Jordan White that played at Western said he would return to campus to help out and would keep tabs on the receivers during the season.

Mike Shula lost games at Alabama by 15 points in 2006. He lost by 17 (2x) and 16 (1x) in 2004, and by 24 in 2003.

RIGHT! Forgot we talked about Jordan White being a childhood friend of yours. Yeah, Jennings is beloved in Kalamazoo, though some of his extended family have been obnoxious at restaurants at places I've worked at in the past. But, no one has a bad thing to say about Jennings at all.

I can totally see that where the family thinks they get free reign and you should be happy to serve them. At ND, actual Rudy hangs around is actually not a very pleasant person. Initially took some sting out of the movie, but eventually I just decided Sean Astin is Rudy and life was good.

I probably did bring that up about Jordan at some point. It's just nice to have other people that have an interest in non-power 5 schools. And we didn't even get into the coaches that came from the MAC. Whether, it's Saban as a player and coach or Urban Meyer getting his first head job. I enjoy some of the other smaller conferences, but the convenience and sneaky good talent in the MAC just always keeps me interested. This year we get Buffalo and it's great.

You're correct. I fucked up. I think the trivia question was when was the last time Bama lost by more than 17 points. And it was that 2003 LSU game.

I also love the old-guard of coaches like Terry Bowden and Frank Solich currently in the conference, too. Buffalo is good. Tyree Jackson is a stud with a big arm; almost came to WMU but WMU favored Jon Wassink over him when they were coming out of high school -- which makes sense because Wassink fit was Fleck was running offensively at the time. Hopefully this is a good launch pad for Leipold to keep Buffalo on the up-and-up.

Saban going conservative. Screen plays all day when when there’s more than 10 yards for a 1st down.
