Honestly it's just cool to see a well-coached and discplined Tennessee team. Butch Jones had dudes out there running amuck doing dumb shit.

If WVU has to play in hurricane conditions against NC State this weekend there is definitely a chance for an upset.

This is so stupid to me. Yeah, of course Auburn is more likely to lose to LSU than any of the other teams to their opponents. LSU is ranked 12. That's only 5 spots back from Auburn.

I'm a Washington fan so I hate Oregon but I'm also not exactly a Stanford fan either.

I dunno what to make of Oregon yet since they're playing absolute nobodies in the first three weeks. Herbert throughout his career has made a living putting together highlight reel tapes against scrub squads but in games against Top 50 defenses, he's either missed the game due to injury or just was not very good so I'm curious to see what happens in that game.

In Oregon's favor, their toughest games this year are all at home (Stanford, Washington, Arizona State) so maybe that'll help.

I just think Stanford and Washington are programs with a much more stable base right now and are better equipped to play Oregon.... especially depth wise. Maybe I'm wrong but....we will see.

Just a year ago at this time, Oregon fans thought Slick Willie was bringing them back to the glory days and were praising him and his recruiting and now the infatuation with Cristobal is at its peak...might just be a tad early....again.

Fair, level of competition so far has obviously lacking however the offensive production has tracked with previous years when our good teams played scrubs. Herbie put on a bunch of weight this year and looks every bit the part of a first round QB, as you pointed out he's had trouble staying healthy thus far in his career but when he has been we've been one of the most productive offenses in the country, the kid is GOOD. Depth definitely an issue though especially at QB.

All of that to say I'm not worried about our ability to put points on the board, but as is tradition the defense looks a little suspect. I'm more confident in the front 7 with Jalen Jelks and Troy Dye, but the secondary is gonna struggle against big receivers in the PAC 12 like Arcega-Whiteside. So hopefully we can follow the formula of Oregon teams past and just outscore teams. Excited to see what the offense looks like against the Stanford defense, should be a shootout. Interested to see what the deal with Love's health is though.

Oh and fuuuuuck Willie Taggart. Can't wait til he fails up into the Buccaneers job after 2 seasons

Herbert, by all accounts, seems like a great kid with obvious talent and so from a P12 standpoint, I am rooting for him when he makes the jump to the NFL but for now, fuck that. In terms of his career, I think his standout game (for me) when he played against a good defense was in his freshman year at Utah. That was his best game against an upper level defense. His other games against good defenses though just have not been impressive and so I am curious to see him against Stanford, UW, Utah, etc. this year.

I should be confident in UW beating Oregon again this year but I'm not because of the OL injuries UW is dealing with and of course, the worthless skidmark known as Jake Browning will probably do something stupid to cough it up.

I cannot wait for this year to be over and for him to be on to whatever the hell else he decides to do with his life.

Yea, I played HS football. I'm not surprised by it or anything. Its still shitty, though.

Yeah I'd agree the Utah game was probably his best performance against a good D, it's bummer that he missed the UW and Stanford games last year. Those two games this year should be a great litmus test for his readiness for the next level.
I'm optimistic though, they came and practiced on Nike campus right before the season and seeing him up close he looks like a different person from a year ago.

Yeah Browning is kind of a bummer for ya'll, feels like theres a much higher ceiling to be reached with a different QB. Is there another guy on the roster and they're just staying loyal to Browning or no?

Half and half...it's a loyalty thing to Browning primarily but the other QBs on the roster are true freshman (2), or a redshirt freshman (1), or a transfer who can't play this year (1). So by default, Browning is probably the best guy eligible for this season but that's not saying a whole lot.

Browning is going to break most of UWs school passing records so it's not like he's awful but I look at it like this...When Browning took over, UW was clinging to mediocrity and it was Chris Petersen's 2nd year at UW. Browning has helped put UW back on the national map so he should be acknowledged as such but now that they are firmly on that said map, it's time to take that next step with the QB play. Browning has came up small in every major game UW has had throughout his career so while he's played a big part in getting the program back to a relevant spot, they've plateaued with him.

In terms of depth, they have 5* transfer Jacob Eason from Georgia who has to sit out this year due to the transfer rules but he will be the starter next year and I am stoked for that. UW should be a legit national championship contender next season with Eason at the helm. Massive upgrade from Browning in just about every single way.

Beyond that, they have some good kids including former Oregon commit, Colson Yankoff (lol yankoff). The QB room at UW is quite good but unless Browning gets hurt, we won't see any of them this year.

I've been following Herbert for the next two drafts and from what I've read he has very little receiving talent around him the last two years so to get what he gets is pretty impressive but absolutely, he has to do it against good defenses as well

Yeah the receiving corps last season was extremely average, Dillon Mitchell was/is decent but Herbert hasn't had a real #1 guy since Darren Carrington his freshman season who was then kicked off the team.
Jaylon Redd looks like he might be able to fill that role this year but he's super small and more of a vertical route speed guy so we'll see how that group pans out
