For me, it validates having just four teams. There just aren’t that many teams who are worthy year to year. This season, it looks like just two. Last season it was three, the season before it was two, the season before that two. None of the teams on the outside looking in, save for Georgia, would have made these games competitive. Clemson and Bama are just too good this season (pending a big OU comeback).
You want to eliminate the problem? Add more teams. It wont be fixed immediately but the only way to get top recruits to stop funneling to two schools is to give the other schools a chance to say "hey, you can win here"
The committee would probably still put in teams that don't deserve to be in the playoffs over ucf tho, meh
But there are plenty of top recruits to go around. Sure, a number of recruits gravitate towards to top programs, but that’s always going to be the case. The playoff system isn’t to blame for USC or Texas not being able to keep their top shelf local talent at home.
The coaches, facilities, money, etc. still wouldn't change. Its silly to think a playoff format alone would have a drastic change in recruiting.
An Oklahoma player kneeing Kyler Murray in the head while his helmet is removed to attack another player is peak Oklahoma
Dont know what to tell you other than stop complaining about a system you have no interest in fixing haha
I’m not complaining - I like four I just like to point out that ND will always be overrated and that Oklahoma will always be exposed as long as they play football on only one side of the ball.
I like football. I would like more of the football and better matches at the same time. Seems like a win for fans, teams, and players haha
