To be clear, the team the Sixers fielded tonight just gave a pathetic show of effort. They're obviously much better with Embiid, but there's a lot wrong right now, especially defensively,

It's crazy to think the Magic might not only make the Playoffs, but that MCW would play a key role if it happens. He was in their crunch time lineup last night, and ended up a +26 for the game, second only to Terrence Ross. I don't think he'll ever be a decent shooter, but he's an intriguing guy off the bench with his size, defense, and the hustle he's showing. Granted, he's also playing for his NBA life at this point, so there's no guarantee he looks like this next season if they bring him back on a full contract, but I'll take any positives I can get. Speaking of defense, Orlando has the second best defensive rating since February 1st (trailing Utah by only a tenth of a point), and the 8th best on the season!

 

MCW never played decent defense the first couple years of his career

Nice to see that he is now, definitely makes him viable as an NBA player even if he can't shoot

 

Now i'm not saying he should win, but Monte Morris should definitely be in the conversation for 6th man of the year and the fact that his name isn't mentioned at all is straight up disrespectful. Morris is 3rd in WS with 5.9 among Harrell (1st w/ 8.5), Sabonis (2nd w/ 7.5), Lou (4th w/ 5.2), Dinwiddie (5th w/ 4.7), and Ross (6th w/ 3.5).

Among those same players, he ranks 1st in turnover % and offensive rating per 100 possessions, and is top 3 in most other categories. Again, i'm not saying he should outright win, but it is ridiculous these sportswriters omit him in 6th man and also Jokic in the MVP race.

 

Jokic will finish 3rd or 4th probably.
