Manu retirement announcement coming?

 

I understand and agree with that to this point in his career.

Depending on his agreed-to buyout, OKC will be paying him a large amount of money this season plus whatever minimum, MLE, TPMLE, BE, or cap space deal he receives. For sake of his career standing, I can see a world where he jumps on the gs wagon to get a ring. It would make sense from the standpoint of he is still getting paid first and foremost, but also able to switch the narrative a bit of wanting to win. If you as Melo decide on gs it definitely means you are accepting a lesser role because he is not replacing someone as the starter there. That's a lot of gymnastics to do, which is why Houston or LA feel more realistic to me. But I don't think it is completely out of the picture.

He's the most frustrating point guard I've ever watched. Absolutely insane raw talent. Fast, athletic, can break down any defense, good feel for the game ... and then he'll make the dumbest pass I've ever seen and lose a game while bricking three pointers.

If he gets even a passable jumper, he could be very good though.
