The move makes them a legit contender in the East now, who cares if it doesn't put them past GSW? No one is beating them. Are teams just not supposed to try at all until that team is dismantled? Even if they make it to the finals and inevitably lose to GSW, that's a huge boost to the team.

This league makes me so happy.

I have a lot of questions about this from Philly’s end. The only reason to overpay as much as they did is for the perfect guy and I don’t think that’s Harris.

The Clippers FO is out here playing chess. I wish we had someone as pragmatic as Jerry West making decisions in Chicago. I love it for them.

Damn, that was not a trade I was expecting. But I really like Philly's starting five. Even though it seems like they have given up a lot to get there. When I went to bed Iw as thinking "Philly missed out on Reggie Bullock, that seems like a great guy to fit in with this team". Lol.

Also, so glad that Bobi and Tobi are still together.

The deal with the process was their stinginess with money then meant they would go into paying luxury taxes when it was time. I guess they think it’s time

Bullock would definitely have been a nice piece for the Sixers

They still need someone of his ilk

Cavs should call about Fultz. Burks and one or two seconds they have stockpiled

Edit: wow he makes more money than I thought he did lol

Lol if they made the trade for Holiday, he'd be saying they don't have enough shooting/size in their crunchtime lineup

Someone's mad about not getting the Clippers pick

Also the only change to the crunchtime lineup is swapping Wilson Chandler for Tobias Harris

How is it just now flawed?

They aren’t going to have to worry about Kyrie types cause Boston isn’t gonna make it to the second round

Speaking a hot take into existence

Honestly, I don't think they can. Simmons is still on his rookie deal next year, so that will make signing Butler and Harris a little easier, but of course he'll want a ton more when his deal expires, and that's when they'll really feel the squeeze. I think they got Harris partly as a hedge against Butler leaving. He's not the defender Jimmy is, but he's a much more low key personality and can play off the ball. Plus he's three calendar years younger, and his body is probably another five or six younger when you factor in all of the years Butler spent playing for Thibs.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. Neither Chandler nor Shamet were going to be better at defending someone like Kyrie.

So if the Clippers are going after Davis, do they throw in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? I personally would try to keep him and offer up Shamet instead along with picks.

Tomorrow might be pretty boring with all the action we're getting today and last week. That's cool though. I'm here for the chaos.

  20. I would be really surprised if Philly manages to bring both JB and Tobi back. And if they don't it's a major overpay. Idk. That unprotected Heat pick is a really really slick asset for LAC to pick up for an expiring contract that they got in the trade for Blake. Jerry is one of the best GMs in the league fr

Johnson could be a really interesting addition, or he could end up moored to the bench like Maker. I think it's a good move for Milwaukee in that the worst-case scenario doesn't really hurt them. I know Maker wanted more playing time, but will that even happen in Detroit? He's worse than Jon Leuer (currently playing 10 minutes a game), and probably no better than Henry Ellenson (who's barely played at all).

It's just a silly time to pull the trigger on something like this.

The Warriors could be dismantled as early as this summer. So to push your chips in for a move like this when both players you got this year have contracts expiring, it seems ridiculous to me.

Would make a lot more sense to keep those assets and see how the field plays out and make an appropriate move in the offseason.

I think by year 3 or 4 of both Butler and Tobi contracts (if Philly is able to sign both to max deals) are going to be real bad and really limit their flexibility down the line. It's not the right time to make this kind of move but what the fuck do I know? We'll all have to sit back and see how it plays out but that was my initial reaction to the move
