Remember when the magic traded Harris for nothing, essentially for a chance at getting Chandler Parsons or Al Horford? Partially because skiles didn't like him.

The clippers have gotten a massive haul for Blake Griffin and probably haven’t performed any worse than they would have with him still on the team. Great work Jerry West is doing over there

Race for 8th seed in the west will be interesting.

Or when they traded Oladipo and Sabonis for Serge Ibaka? Though to be fair, Orlando's player development is so poor I don't think Oladipo would be what he is today if he were still in Florida. The Magic are just a really poorly-run team on all levels. The East is just bad enough at the bottom that they're deluded into thinking they might be a playoff team every year, and all of their moves seem to be based on that belief.

And apparently rob hennigan is the assistant gm in okc so it didn't matter

Isn’t that kind of the point? Lol

I mean yes Giannis is having an MVP-caliber season but I don’t see how “the bucks kill teams even without Giannis” is a good argument

Harris gonna leave in the offseason to continue his quest of playing for every team in the NBA #JustTheFacts

Tobias back on the east coast so he can get that max from the Knicks after the season

I don't really understand the move for Philly. They'll have cap space this summer (or at least were supposed to). Couldn't they just sign him in the offseason?

Pushing to make a playoff push but they're not getting past Toronto/Milwaukee and even if they do, they're not getting past GS.

Seems like an overpay and gave away some good assets that would really help the team down the line. Maybe I'm missing something but not sure what this does for Philly in the long term. By the time these 4 guys get comfortable playing together, 2 of 4 contracts will expire

Their cap space would be used on resigning Butler. Only way they could get Harris in too was to trade for him now. Besides, there's no guarantee they get anyone on the open market - there are more teams with max room than players worthy of it

Who knows what will happen this year? Yeah it's unlikely anyone beats the Warriors but I'm glad they're going for it. Embiid and Simmons are both better than anyone expected them to be at their ages. There's no reason to sit on your hands

Yeah I don’t know. To me they definitely elevated them to being a legit contender. They’re at least on the Bucks/Raptors level now. I think tobias is still being underrated

Feels like pushing their chips in way too early.

Why couldn't they sign Harris with their cap space and then go over the cap to resign Butler since they have his bird rights?

Also - is Tobi worth max money? I feel like that could be a horrendous contract on the back end. I'm very skeptical on this working out.

I am not a cap expert but I think Butler's cap hold would prevent that

Harris is 26, so it's totally feasible he will be a good contributor for the life of the contract

  21. Tobias is awesome. If he’s your 4th best player then you’re in pretty damn good shape.

  22. Tobi is gonna sign a contract that is too big. He'll be good on it but not as good as the contract. of course depending on the team maybe they don't care, the Kings would probably gladly give him 120m

how the hell can the Sixers afford Embiid, Simmons, Harris, and Butler?

I wish those owners spent some of that money on the Devils

  24. I mean they can't. if they do pay them all they'll be even more into the luxury than OKC

  25. MyBestFiend

The Athletic is reporting the Sixers have been interested in Harris for the last few months

Seems like the owners are willing to go into the tax. Of course the cap is slated to go up quite a bit over the next two years... maybe by then they won't be in it
