I mean Ariza wanted to get paid and I don’t blame them for not wanting to pay the $15 million....

Do you think Morey thought a bunch of guys would also underperform or get injured/suspended this early on...? There’s more to what’s happening with this team than just the lazy Melo narrative.

Offense was just atrocious all night and the turnovers are getting really bad.

That's how it feels to be a Raptors fan too. We've earned our sense of fatalism. I remember feeling as confident as these Bucks fans do but things fall apart man.

Kawhi Leonard is a playoff god though so we'll see. Still, I'll never get my hopes up until we've made the Finals.

  4. Are Raps fans not worried about his health? Being hurt again this soon can't be good.

    1) It’s $15 million for one year! SI’s list on 100 best players had Ariza at 79. Wouldnt you know it, a $15 million dollar salary would have made him the 78th highest paid player in the NBA this year. If you want to win, and you have a loyal player who would help you win, getting cheap to save your owner some money is nothing a fan should ever care about. Seriously, who cares if Fratita had to pay some extra money this year? Signing Ariza for 1 year wouldn’t have hindered any other signings. Because Ennis was for the minimum.

    2) I don’t dispute that there are factors beyond Ariza’s absence and Melo’s presence that contributed to this specific bad start. But my point has always been about what this team looks like come playoff time. And it’s clear as day that teams are specifically targeting and game planning to attack Melo right now. Meaning he is unplayable come playoff time. And when the rotation shortens and Melo is benched, that’s when Ariza or Luc would have come in handy.

The recent injury was a jammed foot which from what I understand, hurts a lot but doesn't cause any real damage. Raptors health staff have been recommending when he sits to make sure that any lingering problems that may exist are dealt with in an environment where they can best treat him. I expect that Kawhi will be 100% for the playoffs.

If the injuries still nag Kawhi after the all-star break it’s time to be worried. But it’s a long season and he looks very good when he does play

I’m glad we went on this journey together! This helped me kill so much time at work lol.

I hope the season turns around for you all. I don’t wish a disappointing season on any team.

Ha, I hope so too but rockets follow these weird trends of having a great season and then face planting the next one.

Just putting this out there as a quote that can definitely be held against me in the future:

I still believe that the Raptors will beat the Bucks in the playoffs if they meet. I believe that they're evenly matched, but the Raptors will edge them out. I'm not confident in that feeling but I genuinely believe it.

Idk...after seeing the way the Bucks put a pounding on GSW last night while not shooting well at all from 3, I think I’ll take them in that series over Raptors.

  23. My steaming cold take after 10 games is the ECF will definitely be the Bucks/Raptors
