How is a player determined 'elite' and can a G-League team offer more than one player the $125K? Does that render the rest of the roster meaningless?

This kind of seems like a disaster. And honestly, a Division I college player, playing in packed houses, on national TV, against other players vying to be top NBA draft picks will probably serve them better in the long-run (dealing with pressure, playing under a microscope, competition).

I'm all for these guys getting paid (especially in college) but the G-League thing seems poorly thought out.
