The East has good teams, but most of them are/were young and inexperienced. Golden State, Houston, San Antonio, OKC and some other teams are experienced, battle-tested, perennial playoff teams that LeBron is not used to playing against night in and night out. There are teams in the West that would definitely be playoff teams if they were in the East and teams in the East that definitely would not be playoff teams if they were in the West.

Also, as someone who has watched nearly every single dribble of LeBron's career, his defense is really, really starting to decline. Offensively, he just seems to keep getting better which is insane. But I think at this point of his career, having such a young, inexperienced team with somewhat laughable, 'bozo' role players is really going to test his patience and I just don't see them being a dominant team. In the west. He's also not surrounded by much shooting, which he NEEDS. Cavs did a good job of surrounding him with snipers.

The Cavs won 50 games last year, but they literally coasted through much of the season. I can't tell you how many double digit leads they blew and then lost the game. A dozen probably? Most nights, the Cavs were mailing it in. And LeBron knew he could do that because no team in the Eastern Conference playoffs scared him. I don't think he can get away with that in the West.

Also, when he joined the Heat in 2010 and the Cavs back in 2014, both of those teams struggled in his first year. Ultimately, the teams made it to the Finals (again, against EC playoff teams) but it took them a while to gel, find their groove. Can the Lakers, in the West, afford to get off to a bad start?

I don't know. There are too many questions surrounding the situation for me to think that they'll be that great. My guess would be mid 40s in the win category and honestly, a first round playoff exit. Second round at best because I definitely do not see them beating either the Rockets or Warriors in any playoff match-up.

There better not be a gruesome season-ending injury in the first quarter this year

  10. If I had league pass (do they do midseason discounts like MLB?) I would watch the Mavs the most. Luka Luka Luka

The Mavs are going to be so fun this year.

  12. I’m also on the Mavs wagon. Luka and Smith Jr combo is gonna be sick.

Going into the season I like to prioritize where I’ll spend my viewing time. So i make a mini league pass list.

I will watch just about every Bulls game. But beyond that, I’m hoping to catch as many games from the following teams (no real order):

    Raptors
    Pelicans
    Bucks
    Jazz
    Mavs
    Denver
    Hornets

Lakers will be on national TV each night so I’m sure I’ll catch them a lot too.

Gonna watch most Detroit games again. Think I only missed a handful last year.

I won’t be able to escape the Lakers.

    Sixers/Bucks/Suns/Raptors/Mavs

Bucks, Sixers, Pacers, Mavs, and Suns all seem like they’ll be pretty fun

DeAndre Jordan is going to be huge for them too! I dream of Luka throwing magic lobs to DSJ and DJ.

I like and respect the Bucks this year. Giannis is a gamebreaker and the new coaching will make them crazy formidible. I have them at 3rd in the East unless the 76ers live up to the ridiculous hype.

    Raps/Bucks ECF. Let's do this.
