I'm so confused by the Woj tweet. He's being elevated from VP of Basketball Operations? Was he the VP of Basketball Operations for the Sixers? And isn't VP of BBall Operations higher up than GM?

 

My guess is that the President is higher or equal to GM, but vice pres would be beneath both. It also may just vary per team

 

That makes sense. But when was Elton Brand the VP of Basketball Operations? Did I completely miss this?

he’s been for a few years now i believe, all of my sixers fan follows are super stoked

 

It's probably more of a consolidation of duties due to not having a GM after BC left. I'm assuming with multiple people under BC, Elton and others were all doing duties that typically would fall under the GM role. The title change is probably to streamline and make clear what each person will be doing moving forward. The Clippers had a pretty complicated front office in terms of titles from what I remember.
