    That’s a good get.

Bulls were real stupid to not prioritize re-signing him.

  15. I am very ready to watch wide open bricks from Houston all year instead of just in the most important game of the season.

Likelihood of that is VERY slim

  17. Carmelo is horrible. Likelihood of him bricking shots all year again, is statistically, very likely.

more details from the Thompson vs Green "fight" from an article on The Athletic:

"Both Green and Thompson were guests of LeBron for this ultra-exclusive affair — which prohibited phones and cameras. None of the attendees expected the on-the-court drama to flare back up in this setting.

Which is why everyone was stunned when Thompson, according to sources, out of nowhere attacked Green.

No argument. No squaring up. No taking it outside.

“It was a sucker punch,” said one source who attended the party. “But, to be honest, it wasn’t really a punch. It was more like a shove.”

It was a face mush, another source described it. Other reports have described it as a legit punch, maybe even a quick one-two.

Whatever it was, Green was incensed, according to the sources.

Again, the two separated before a full altercation could ensue. Several NBA stars, among them LeBron and Kevin Durant, intervened. They were reminded this wasn’t that type of party.

After a conflict resolution session among NBA millionaires, temperatures settled. The party continued with Green and Thompson co-existing without issue, laughing and partying the rest of the night.

“Man, that wasn’t no fight,” one source said. 'It was much ado about nothing'."

  19. My favorite time of the year is people writing the same articles and just swapping the team names.

Carmelo Anthony and the Oklahoma City Thunder are a Perfect Fit
According to Synergy Sports, Anthony finished in the 94th percentile in spot-up situations last season, but those possessions only made up 15.2 percent of his individual onslaught. He knocked down 41.8 percent of his catch-and-shoot threes and canned 44.8 percent of his outside shots when wide open. This part of his game will age exceptionally well, and if Anthony conforms to the confines of a notably lower usage rate, his efficiency should rise higher than it's ever been.
    :crylaugh::crylaugh:LOOLLLLLLLLLLL.

    Let's roll the tape....

For the record, Melo was 6th in catch and shoot shot attempts per game last year. He was 10th the year before.

Catch and shoot Melo hasn’t been hiding somewhere.

Now, if the Rockets could somehow unearth “passable on defense” Melo, they might be going somewhere.

  22. I think Melo fits a bit better on Houston but I don’t think it’s gonna work out if he comes in with the same mindset he had with OKC. (I have no reason to believe that mindset has changed)

If it works then that’s good but if it doesn’t then hopefully the Rockets can just let him go.

On paper it’s low risk but we won’t know until he plays.

He’s playing with two of the best passers in the game too. That’ll help him I think but his mindset does have to change. Guess we will find out soon enough.

Carmelo Anthony Makes The Thunder Whole
Anthony had an effective field goal rate of 58.6 percent on catch-and-shoot jumpers last season, better than known sharpshooters like Kevin Love and in the top half of players with at least 200 attempts. (This is more impressive than it sounds, because the ranks of players who are asked to take 200 spot-up jumpers is a heavily self-selected group. Anthony will obviously hold the ball more than Ibaka, but he’s also a better ball handler and passer. The who-does-what balance will be crucial, which it doesn’t take deep analysis to see. But at minimum, Melo walking into a spot-up shooting role — the role he played so well for Team USA — will help the Thunder no matter what else he does, simply because he’s a good enough shooter to space the floor. And the Thunder desperately needed spacing.

Y'all doing this again? I love it.
