Weighing risk vs reward though Utah made the right move easily IMO, much less of a gamble

 

I don't think Utah gave up a lot. The team is good right now and they needed someone like Conley to see if they can get over the hump and into the WCF for this year and (maybe) next year.

Then, in the 21-22 season, all of their money is off the books and Mitchell enters RFA. So you can retool then. This is a good value play in the short term that doesn't hurt you long term. Gotta make these big swings when you can if you are Utah.

Hope Conley is healthy at least, it feels like he’d really fit with this Utah team.
