Yeah I agree with the general point of the article. Though, I do think Zion probably could have forced the Pelicans into trading the pick if he really really wanted to

Great read. The fact that the best teams won't have the money or the playing time isn't brought up enough in pro/anti-draft discussions. I also really like the idea of a matching system as a draft replacement and rookie free agency solution.

If the NBA did get rid of the draft one day, I hope it would also set up a relegation system.

Someone bring up the match system to Danny Ainge and see how he feels.

  4. Can you imagine the Knicks being sent to the D-League?

I've always found it funny how European soccer is such a purely capitalistic approach to these matters, where its purely a market driven approach to signing players and where poorly run franchised are punished, whereas American sports leagues are socialist with salary caps and revenue sharing, etc.

Not sure why people believe some yahoo’s (no pun) report

    Much ado about nothing

  8. Coming up next on First Take: Should Bernie Sanders force a to move the Pelicans to Seattle if he's elected President?

  9. Ok, now Houston people are just protesting too much. :crylaugh:

Let's be dead honest: Paul would be so gone if he didn't cost too much to move.

The NBA has Warren's wealth tax! Literally the highest spending teams pay a tax and the revenue raised is shared with the lower spending teams!

    Amazing.

I mean are people expecting any different with Paul publicly denouncing the report? (Not even saying it's true) But when has an athlete had something like this happen and then publicly come out and say, "yeah this is all true" lol

Paul pushing back doesn't mean anything

I can already hear the sound of James Dolan handing out a max contract to Guerschon Yabusele while Spike Lee taunts players on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

We’ve had stars publicly want out of their teams quite a few times the past few seasons, don’t know what he gains by saying it’s not true.

I know tons of weirdos want it to be true but I guess we’ll wait and see

  15. Remember when Eric Bledsoe said fuck reporting and just flat out tweeted “I don’t wanna be here” lmao

Going all in on Masai (there's no way he goes)

I guess they don't want to hire someone they don't feel strongly about just to do it, which TBH more power to them. They've been a shitfest FO for so long, they have to get it right.
