I feel for DeRozan but it's very clear they needed to let him go.

2015 they got swept by the Wizards in the first round.
2016 they made it to the conf finals and lost.
2017 swept by the Cavs in the second round
2018 swept by the Cavs again

That's obviously not all on him but he's the 'star'.

 

If Kawhi stays healthy then the Raptors should be pretty damn good.

They'll be one of the best defensive teams in the league again (or should be anyway)

 

Kyle Lolwery makes that very likely.

Good interview but also fuck Chris Haynes. He's been putting out all of that info about Kawhi not wanting to play in Toronto and maybe not even showing up. He's making things way harder every time he reports on anything regarding the trade.

 

I mean that was right when the trade happened and there was speculation he may not show up from everyone. There’s a good chance that stuff was told to media until I think the next day Woj reported that he was starting to come around on playing in Toronto.

I also went from saying "Fuck Kawhi" to "Welcome Kawhi!" in the span of a highlight video on YouTube so I'm not the best person to go to for level headed Raps takes.

both teams upgraded and will be better than they were last year. the raptors probably won’t win as many games and run away with the east but they will be “better”
