so do the Lakers sit on their hands this offseason and wait for next year? if they sign a max player this year, would they have room for another one next year with LBJ and someone else already eating up like 30M each?

LBJ ain't getting younger and waiting another year for KD to come to have him, LBJ, Ball(?) and Kuzma(?) maybe this year's #4 and next year's 1st round pick still doesn't seem like it gets to a championship.

 

I think teams will still risk trading a lot for AD even with Rich Paul's comments. Teams may see what OKC did with Paul George and what Toronto did (or have potentially done) with Kawhi...guys that were assumed to be one-year rentals who turned out to really enjoy the team/city.

Verrrry interesting timing. Almost as if the Lakers first round pick has infinitely more value for the next eight days than it will after the draft.

I haven't paid attention to the physical copies of SI since I was in high school, but I seem to remember the cover always featuring either the Stanley Cup or NBA Finals while they were ongoing.
