I wonder how much of an affect this injury will have on what happens this summer. Will teams be more hesitant to throw the max at him knowing the first season of that deal will likely be a wash? Does KD give serious thought to just picking up his option and earning $31 million to rehab?

 

This definitely changes the landscape of the NBA for sure.

So many teams have been focused on clearing space this summer for the opportunity to sign KD (Brooklyn, NYK, both LAs) and now the likely plan of action for KD is to just take the Player Option and rehab all year. That will fuck with the Warrior's cap situation because they also probably want to max out Klay and will pay big tax dollars to pay KD who won't play a single game.

Lot of rumors too about Kyrie wanting to play with KD...does this now force Kyrie to go to LA? Now the Knicks may not trade RJ? May not go for AD with no KD.

Lots of things will change based on that injury.
