Poetl and a protected first aren't that much to give up all things considered, AND the Spurs are sending another player? This isn't terrible. Still upset that the Raps backstabbed DeMar like that though.

 

Hot Take: The East is going to be really fun to watch next year. Celtics will be really good. Raptors too. 76ers will contine to grow. Bud's Bucks, yeah I like the name, will be better and the Pacers are still gonna be feisty.

I don’t hate the trade for the Spurs tbh. They need a scorer even if Derozan’s contract is a bit much. Maybe Pop can make him play defense

 

Pop will be good for DeMar. I know that he's gonna play his heart out no matter where he is and that's something Spurs fans should be happy to have. Poetl has tremendous potential too.

OG's game and potential has been compared to Kawhi's so maybe he can teach the young one a thing or two.

Man, I didn't realize how much this trade would affect me. DeMar was proud to be a Raptor when it wasn't (and really still isn't) cool to be and that means a lot to Raptors fans. I understand the business and how it could pay off but on a personal level, I'm crushed. Kawhi is the better player but DeMar connected with the fans.

 

Ehh I’d buy his stuff with a grain of salt.

 

Looks like Smart is gonna end up being 4x11-4x12. Not greeeeeeat but not awwwwwful.

On a positive note, this is super cool.

 

is Kawhi even ready to play? and isn't there something against trades involving injured players? is Kawhi still injured? like... i don't even know the details of his status lol. we all knew he wanted to be traded, but is he planning on playing opening night?

 

I'd be upset were I a big Raptors fan, trading one of the best most loyal players in franchise history for a malcontent man-child who's probably gonna dip out on you in a year.

Conversely I'm fired up if I'ma spurs fan

 

I think he has to play if he wants to be a free agent next year
