This is the most lateral move of all time, i know Leonard is better than derozan but trading your best player for a guy you don't even know if you can sign and a good backup big man like... plus the questions about kawhis health.

If I was a raps fan I would be furious

 

And get swept in the playoffs by the Celtics

 

Kyle Lowry is going to promise kawhi he will go 0-20 in the playoffs again before they even make it

 

Raptors can absolutely make the finals

 

And get swept

Getting to the finals is still a great feat. Just because they can’t beat the best team ever assembled doesn’t mean they’re idiots.

 

Derozan, two 2nds (who cares) and Poeltl (who cares)

that is a good trade for the Raptors. I would take that risk too.

I’m sure some teams could but the bet of Leonard staying long term probably scared them off

Bucks could have traded Middleton and other parts but they probably feel better about 1. The possibility of retaining Middleton long term and 2. Middleton’s health

Lol, the Raptors should've just traded DeRozan for "an asset." It's 2018 not 2004, no one wants DeRozan. Now at least when Kawhi leaves they only have one awful contract to get rid of or wait out before they can start a real rebuild instead of two.

Raptors are a MUCH better team now than they were yesterday. They have a legit chance at reaching the finals. Which would be a fantastic season.

If they can’t keep Leonard then start the rebuild. And a rebuild is what would’ve happened even if they didn’t make this trade. It’s a great deal for them.

For San Antonio, I think they did ok as well. DeRozan gets a lot of hate but he’s obviously a very good player who will now be playing for the goat coach.
