Why the fuck would Toronto trade Demar for a guy who will not resign and might sit out another year because he doesn't want to play there? I do not see the incentive at all, he might not even report to the team.

 

if kawhi truly refuses to play and never suits up as a raptor, the raptors dumping demar’s salary still isn’t an awful decision by any means.

 

I can’t see Leonard sacrificing another season right in the middle of his prime, but then again pretty much everything he has done the past year has been pretty odd.

i wasn’t saying that they shouldn’t trade demar for an asset. i’m not entirely convinced there is a team out there with assets that would be crazy about getting him, but by all means go for it. that being said, if a deal isn’t out there, a salary dump makes sense for them.

 

Well yeah, if they’ve explored all other options with him then sure, dumping his contract for potentially nothing isn’t a bad thing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Toronto trades Kawhi by the deadline. The Spurs have been holding onto him for awhile because they’d rather not trade him to much of the West. I could see Toronto folding on that and getting the best they can from someone you’d think he’d easily re-sign with, like the Lakers or Clippers.

My guess is no. I don't think all the Celtics picks or Fultz and Convington would have been as interesting to the Spurs as Demar is. They don't seem like they want to rebuild. So adding Derozan allows them to chug along.
