Because maybe they think getting AD would give them a better chance of actually getting KD and/or Kyrie? It’s not ridiculous

it’s pretty ridiculous haha. what in AD’s career would indicate to either of them he’s a good teammate or would help them win

the bigger argument against it would be KD leaving the warriors to have his own team and knicks fans being more excited about winning the Zion sweepstakes.

Me remembering we don't have our first round pick but also I don't have to care about the lottery for the first time in 13 years

It would be utterly ludicrous for the Knicks to not trade the pick for AD if they know Kyrie and KD are coming. Just batshit soup for brains nonsense.

It wasn't long ago AD was being talked about as potentially the best player in the league, those three dudes together would be a hellfire juggernaut raining death upon the eastern conference.
People are going crazy, Zion is a kid, you take the sure thing superstar over longterm potential in that scenario every time

I think if the Knicks are able to land Kyrie and KD, which I personally think will happen, it's absolutely OK to trade Zion for AD.

The Cavs traded Wiggins (who was pretty highly touted coming into the NBA) for Kevin Love, who had never led a team to the playoffs and was injured on and off for much of his career. You KNOW what you're getting in AD. Zion, despite all the potential is still an unkown and you hope he becomes a superstar as good as or near the level of AD. If you have Kyrie and KD, your championship clock starts ticking right away. I wouldn't waste the first few years of that trying to get Zion accustomed to the NBA, the climate and the culture of the league and deep playoff runs.

  13. can they afford all 3 guys?

As long as they can get off DeAndre's contract I believe so

  15. Just gotta shed Jordan’s deal. Idk how long they can keep all 3 but they can make it happen

give me Zion on a rookie contract over AD tbh

  17. they don't have to do anything with Jordan's deal - it's already expiring

Isn't Jordan a UFA this summer?

The Knicks can straight up sign KD and Kyrie and then trade Zion and players that match AD's contract. Problem is, they have very few players under contract that are making significant money, so it'd have to be like 6 players for 1 type of deal (assuming DJ is indeed a UFA). Is that even allowed?

That said, the Knicks can throw in some other guys other than Zion that NO would want (Knox, Smith, Ntilkia)

in that scenario as long as we keep Mitch they can have the ship

  21. But also idk if the Knicks (as bad as they can be) would want to give up all their young guys

I’m personally not trading Zion, Mitchell, whoever else for AD

  22. oh yeah that's right

well then yeah they'd have enough money to probably max him after the season but they'll probably want to sign him long term before the summer of 2020

Knicks getting Kyrie, KD, and Zion would be the shittiest possible off-season outcome.
