Fuck projected points. Fournette is being undersold by both Yahoo and ESPN 1) a nagging injury last year seriously impacted his YPC, he literally dipped from like 4.6 to 3.3 during that stretch 2) we just signed a top 5 interior lineman next to our well developing young left tackle and quality center 3) ESPN says he won’t get catches as often as other backs and they are very wrong. No idea HOW they think he’s not a top 10 player. We are just gonna run the ball even more without Lee or ARob
Kamara is gonna be a stud Keenan Allen is gonna return to form Alex Collins is the only redeemable thing about the Ravens offense Tyreek Hill gonna get me those big plays Brady's gonna throw to either Gronk, White or Hogan on every play. Happy to have 2/3 of em. Maybe Matt Ryan won't suck this year? Kerryon Johnson gonna Carry me on into the playoffs. Lets fucking go.
I agree with most of these takes except I don't see Kerryon doing much with that crowded backfield and White may not see as much as we all think with Rex and Sony.
Rex and Sony both got bum knees. No chance in hell they both survive 16 games. Plus, White is in Brady's trust tree. Sony ain't and I don't know if Rex is either. Edit: Kerryon point i agree with to an extent but A) there's a chance and B) I wanted the pun.
I love my draft tbh I never have a reliable WR2 anyway in fantasy. I love every other part of my team and that part is just par for the course, always a crapshoot who I put in at WR2
I will continue to hate on Derrick Henry until he literally comes up to Boston and beats the crap out of me.
I hate the Titans and I hate Alabama. But that’s a hard guy to tackle behind an all pro line. And I promise you Dion Lewis isn’t getting the amount of carries Murray got. They were paying Murray too much to justify using anyone else as the feature back. Murray is gone and Henry is now the guy. Henry went like 938 & 8 TD last year and got over 4 YPC as the SECOND back. The Titans are even more committed to winning by running the ball than the Jags are, especially with a passing offense that produced a paltry 13 TD last year during a playoff run. And no one is taking that 240 pound dude’s goal line carries from him.
All of that rationally makes sense. Then I flip on a Titans game and watch Henry go and come right back to "this dude sucks"
Hey he doesn’t have to be good, he just has to follow the lead blocker and be 240 pounds and run a 4.5 hahah. He will get 1100 / 10 just by doing that if he stays healthy. I should reiterate that my faith is in the Titans offensive line, not just Henry himself. Their talented OL singlehandedly is what makes their offense effective.
I just realized those numbers were projections not actual numbers haha. Thanks for the correction @CarpetElf I still think Henry is a low end RB1 by default if you look at the context. And people are just trying too hard to “play it safe” cause he hasn’t blown up yet I beat my own drum in fantasy haha. I watch enough football from all 32 teams on my own, to feel comfortable dismissing the “experts” a lot of the time. Is it a gamble, yes, but a calculated one.
If he goes up to 250 carries, after the Titans paid serious money to Dion Lewis, he will just barely scrape 1,000 yards if his YPC stays consistent.
1) double the goal line carries 2) they got Lewis to catch passes. I really don’t see him cutting into Henry’s carries all that much. Henry will get the rock close to 300 times in that offense.
And yet they project him at 930 yards and round 3/4 in fantasy? Kinda gotta pick one here. He’s hardly even rated as a top 15 runningback.
It's being realistic. They just shelled out money for Dion Lewis and are going to use him a lot too. He's outpaced him in preseason already.
On principle a sub 1000 yard RB is not a “breakout player” unless he’s Alvin Kamara and got a crazy amount of TD and receiving yards I’m bullish on the idea that the Titans aren’t gonna run the ball out of finesse packages with Lewis except once in awhile. He makes way more sense as a pass catcher for Mariota.
You're splitting hairs then. An ESPN projection is not "the experts", firstly. Second of all, if Dion Lewis is healthy, he's a weapon. He had over 1,000 total yards and nine touchdowns last season. They aren't just going to sign him to put him on the back burner.
I think both Henry and Lewis are very draftable and their roles don’t interfere with each other. They will be used for entirely different things. What I know is the Titans are gonna run like fuck, and they prefer to use a wrecking ball when they do it.
But there's still only one football. Lewis ran the ball more with New England than Henry did with Tennessee and Henry only barely got the ball less than Murray. Also, you don't know what the Titans want to do. They have a brand new coach and a brand new OC who, if his history is any indication, is NOT a power runner.
