That was roughing? He doesn't even try to hit him, he just glides besides him and barely touches his arm/stick...

 

Crosby didn't flop, I don't recall what happened to Letang but obviously not a flop if he isn't playing, but the roughing and high stick last night were flops (just because they didn't fall doesn't mean they didn't embellish).

Every team has someone embellish at some point, if you can't admit those two instances were embellished then you are truly blinded by rage over the Crosby incident.

What's your point? I just said every team embellished. Doesn't change the fact that you guys did last night.

 

Clearly I'm a pens fan, but at this point they have made it clear that anything can happen in this series. I don't really feel bad for either team at this point. Save the hit on Crosby, which I feel strongly about. However, both teams are playing chippy and looking for that edge and the refs can't make up their fucking minds on what they're going to call one game to the next game.

 

Right, and I'm sick of Caps fans (not specifically you) continuing to bitch about this one call when the refs botched calls for both sides all night. The caps put 40 shots on net against an absurdly injured Pens team and still couldn't pull out a win, to act like this one moment cost them a win is fucking stupid.

 

Man I am never betting on the Caps again.

Yeah for sure, man. Anything can happen in the playoffs.

There's a huge difference between a best of 3 series and the caps having to win 3 in a row though.

I was enjoying the series but everything since the Crosby incident has been too crazy. I'll just bandwagon the Preds now

No way the Pens blow this series now. Washington just hasn't played great hockey. They barely handled Toronto, a team they were expected to decisively take care of, and the Pens were already banged up going into the series.

But a team that simply makes the mistakes Orpik has in those goals up the middle should not deserve a win. Those mistakes bite you in the playoffs and they rightfully have. Your best players need to be your best players. Ovi has only looked great half the time, Holtby has been shaky the whole playoffs, and Shattenkirk has had some terrible games.

Even if the Caps some how pull this series off they'll be running into the same problems in the Conference Final

The Caps have actually played fairly well, aside from Ovi last night, and Holtby. But lol to anyone that thinks they're going to come back and win this series. I wouldn't be shocked if they don't win another game.

The ref blew the call on Oshie's high stick but I don't blame Bonino that much. Your first instinct is to flinch when someone's stick blade is right near your face. The refs just screwed up and shouldn't have called anything. Even then, the Caps had a double minor earlier in the game & didn't score on that plus other opportunities that would have made this whole thing a non-factor. Eller should have tied the game on that one chance but couldn't elevate the puck on the rebound so Fleury made a pretty easy save.

I don't think the Caps have played poorly, though. They're getting enough chances to win & Pittsburgh is burning their worse players on the counter-attack. Not getting enough saves from Holtby either. He's been bad.

 

See I Am Mick's post. You are saying the Penguins flop, but then back step and say we'll all tells flop. So why aren't you calling out Oshie?

 

I didn't back step anywhere, I said all teams flop in my response to you and if you can't accept that the Pens did last night then you are biased. I also defended the Pens saying the Crosby/Letang incidents were clearly not flops. I didn't call out Oshie because that happened like a year ago and hadn't been discussed in this thread until after I quoted you, and once it was brought up I admitted it was also a flop but that doesn't change the fact that the Pens did last night.

Do I need to go through every flop in the last year and ensure they get fair coverage in this thread compared to an incident that happened 24 hours ago?

I'm just saying every team does it and to act like your team doesn't occasionally is funny. I'll drop it though because I know it's an annoying argument to watch.
