It's only fitting that after stealing a series from the Wild that Jake Allen shits the bed versus the Blues.

 

Can't tell if this is serious or not, but honestly, Allen has been remarkable. Some of these games could have been way worse without him.

PREDS WIN THE TRADE

 

Man, I'm so happy right now.

 

I hate that it had to be James Neal who scored such a beautiful goal.

So happy for the Preds right now.

 

I saw on the twittersphere how someone described the Preds as last years Sharks and I'm totally ok with that except the losing part.

Let's change that one.

 

This is the only series where I only have a small preference for one team over the other. I'm rooting for the Preds, but I still like the Blues. In the 3 other series I clearly have a preference for Oilers, Caps and Sens.

 

They could lose against the Pens just like the Sharks last year (gosh I wish that doesn't happen)

 

I don't know what you are talking about. I remember the playoffs being cancelled right after the conference finals. Strange.

I once again have to say the media in this series is the worst

Yeah that's pretty bad. I feel like this is a definite example of biased and poor reporting.

I know I was hot under the collar right after the hit happened and I gotta say that I'm still pissed, but there's no way to prove Niskanen targeted Crosby in any other fashion then because he wanted to put a hard hit on the best player going through a dangerous zone. I don't like the hit because Niskanen admitted that he had intent to crosscheck Crosby as per post game interviews, and it turned into a crosscheck to the face. Also it's been said the Ovi play right before was just as bad.

I feel like Caps fans would be singing a bit of a different tune if it was Ovi or Backstrom taking that type of hit in this type of circumstance, but that's just my opinion.

 

It football, they have created rules to protect star players. They have learned that loosing quarterbacks to injuries where there is Brent isn't good for business. They even went as far to protect quarterbacks knees after Brady was hit low and lost most of a season.

The NHL hasn't really done much to prevent targeting players for injury. And there is a huge difference between checks, and collisions, and slashes in the direction of the puck.

Ovechkin swung his stick shoulder height. Niskanen was gonna hit him no matter what. Crobsy was out of the play (falling) and nowhere near the puck. How many lost games from star players who are being punished outside the rule book have happened recently. I'd be equally annoyed if this was a Backstrom or other skilled guy of his calibre.
