Always depressing to look at the box office charts particularly after the super hero movie explosions but I love that a movie called Wolf Warrior 2 beat both Marvel movies

3. The Florida Project

Phantom Thread is really close. I did really enjoy Thor: Ragnarok, solid comedy. There’s a few here I need to see after looking at some other lists.

 

I sigh as I type them out, but that one was an eye opener.

Good Time winning would be such an upset, I love it

 

There is only one vote separating First Reformed and Good Time. Even though it won't win, Zama's performance has been admirable.

I still don't get the Headless Woman but Zama really spoke to me.

 

I'd never heard of Zama prior to this thread, but will put it on my list to try and check out!

I am surprised how much that seems to have resonated with people over the years. It is great but doesn't seem accessible.

 

It ended and I sat there mouth agape and Amazon autoplayed a Farmers Insurance Red One ad

 

The Night of the Hunter homage at the end was a nice touch re: hope/despair/hate/love
